00:00Good evening, Kapuso! I am your Kuya Kim, who will give you the trivia behind the trending news.
00:10In a mine in the UK, hundreds of dinosaur footprints were discovered.
00:14It paved the way for a deeper study of the dinosaurs that have ruled our planet for millions of years.
00:22There are findings in the Oxfordshire, UK, that caught the attention of experts.
00:31These are not minerals, but the footprints of dinosaurs.
00:35Since its discovery, researchers have found at least 200 footprints from Oxford and Birmingham Universities,
00:44which are believed to date back to the Middle Jurassic Era.
00:48This means that these footprints are more than 160 million years old.
00:51What's more, these footprints were discovered not by one person, but by five trackways that were used by dinosaurs.
01:00The longest trackway is 150 meters long.
01:03That's why the Dinosaur Highway in Oxfordshire is now considered to be one of the largest dinosaur track sites in the world.
01:09So this is really unusual. We don't find these preservation, these very extensive trackways very commonly.
01:14So this is a really special place.
01:16But what kind of dinosaur left these footprints?
01:22Kuya Kim, what now?
01:24There are five trackways that were discovered in Dewar's Farm Quarry.
01:27Of these four, only the remains of a gigantic herbivorous dinosaur with a very long neck were believed to have been left,
01:33like the Setiosaurus.
01:35And because there are only three footprints on the fifth trackway,
01:39this is from a carnivorous theropod dinosaur, which is called Megalosaurus.
01:44Did you know that Megalosaurus is the first scientifically named dinosaur?
01:48It was discovered in 1824.
01:50And from this discovery, the public's interest in dinosaur science was discovered.
01:55To those who are wondering if it is possible for you to have discovered a dinosaur track in the Philippines,
01:59the answer is
02:00it's a mystery.
02:01Until now, there are still no dinosaurs that have been discovered here in the Philippines.
02:05Experts believe that when dinosaurs were still alive,
02:08the land of the Philippines was still under water and it was not yet formed.
02:12Do you know where the world's largest dinosaur fossil site can be found?
02:21Kapuso, we are now here at Shandong Fossil Bone Beds in Shucheng City, China,
02:26which holds the Guinness World Record for the largest dinosaur fossil site.
02:30Since its discovery in 2008, more than 7,600 fossils have been discovered here
02:35since the late Cretaceous Period.
02:38That's how many!
02:40Meanwhile, to know the trivia behind the news,
