00:00where you have people from of Indian origin that are presidents, that are
00:04prime ministers, that are ministers, that are senior civil servants, head of
00:09multinationals, all having their roots in India. So on the diplomatic front I think
00:15they play an important role. Me being here is a testimony to that. My
00:20government recognizes the fact that I have this strong understanding of India
00:26and that I can play an important role in strengthening the very historical ties
00:31that we have between South Africa and India. So I think diplomacy is an
00:36integral part of PBD and it must continue to be so because today in this
00:42fractured world we need diplomacy more so than ever before.
00:56It's my pleasure. My name is Dr. Satish Kathula. I'm from the U.S. I've been there for the last 31 years and I'm the president of American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin which represents about 100,000 Indian doctors in the U.S.
01:16What does it mean to you?
01:27It means that you know just connecting to our roots in India. Wherever we are as
01:33non-resident Indians we all meet on one platform and you get to meet people from
01:38everywhere so you are connecting with your roots and also to really know how
01:44India is progressing and how we can collaborate to make it better.
01:49What would be your expectation from this edition?
