00:00The target of the Department of Agriculture is to launch a cheaper variety of rice for all of January.

00:06This includes solid rice and nutri-rice, aside from abotkaya, which is good for the Filipinos.

00:17Consumers buy more than Php 50 per kilo of rice.

00:21That's why they are happy to hear that nutri-rice and solid rice is about to be rolled out.

00:26How much rice do you buy now?

00:28Php 55 per kilo. I use it every day. It's a big help because I can buy more.

00:35Instead of one kilo, it will be two kilos, one and a half.

00:38Php 58 per kilo.

00:41So the minimum salary of the people.

00:46The target of the Department of Agriculture is to roll out a cheaper variety of rice for all of January.

00:52Solid rice can be bought for Php 35 to Php 36 per kilo.

00:56Nutri-rice is Php 37 to Php 38 per kilo.

01:00Solid rice is 100% broken white rice.

01:03Nutri-rice is between well-milled and brown rice.

01:06According to the Department of Agriculture, nutri-rice has a lot of vitamins,

01:09such as fiber and minerals, which can be bought at a cheap price.

01:13The Department of Agriculture is planning to roll it out to the 24 provinces of Panguli Sites and MRT and LRT.

01:20The next target of the DA is to reach the programs in the provinces of Ambulacan, Rizal, Pampanga, Cavite, and Laguna in February or March.

01:29The agency also plans to add more solid rice to the primary public market nationwide.

01:34For now, solid rice is available in Camuning Market, Malabon Central Market, New Las Piñas City Public Market,

01:41Pasay City Public Market, Guadalupe Market, MRT North Avenue Station, and LRT Monumento Station.

01:48Aside from this, the agency also targets to lower Php 38 to Php 39 of rice for all,

01:54which can currently be bought for Php 40 per kilo of well-milled rice.

01:58This is in line with the continued efforts of the government to bring the price of rice closer to the masses.
