00:06News in Luzon, from GMA Regional TV, there's a burned motorcycle in Dagupan, Pangasinan. Chris, what's the story there?

00:17Bonnie, the owner doesn't know why his motorcycle suddenly caught fire. He doesn't know that it's broken.

00:33His motorcycle almost caught fire when it was parked on the side of the road in Dagupan, Pangasinan.

00:39According to the owner, Basilio Reposo, he was about to go home when his motorcycle didn't start.

00:46When he tried to start it again, that's when it caught fire.

00:49I noticed that while I was sitting, it started to catch fire. I pushed my motorcycle to the side of the road so that it wouldn't get in the way.

00:57Reposo doesn't know why his motorcycle caught fire, especially since you don't have a problem with it.

01:03The barangay officials and the public immediately responded.

01:08In such emergency cases, I told them the presence of mind.

01:13They immediately thought about how to put out the fire.

01:18They thought that we have a fire extinguisher here and with the help of our city health office,

01:25their staff extinguished the fire.

01:31In Dingras, Ilocos Norte, a businessman was injured after being hit by a vehicle in the middle of the barangay.

01:38According to the authorities, the businessman, Ninet Santos, was driving an SUV with three other passengers.

01:45Later, he was approached by motorcycle suspects and was shot.

01:51He was hit in the chest and was immediately taken to the hospital.

01:54The motive and the person behind the shooting are now being investigated.

02:01Southeast Asian Games gold medalist and Airman First Class, Mervyn Guarte, was killed in Kalapan, Oriental, Mindoro.

02:09According to the police, Guarte was drinking at the house of his friend, the councilor.

02:14He was sleeping in the living room and was shot there early in the afternoon.

02:19The gunman was able to escape but was left with a bloody knife that was used to commit the crime.

02:25Guarte was rushed to the hospital and the investigator was able to talk to him before he got sick.

02:30Together with the police, they are investigating if there were any rumors while Guarte was drinking.

02:37Guarte won several awards in the country for athletics and obstacle course racing.

02:43He also won two gold medals from the 2019 and 2023 SEA Games.

02:50The Philippine Air Force promised to support Guarte's family and will also assist in the investigation.
