00:58But first of all, let me say, thank you to India
01:01for having such an amazing and wonderful program recognizing the Indian
01:07Diaspora and the connection between the Indian Diaspora and India. It is
01:13something that I believe is very special to Indians across the globe. Yes,
01:19Trinidad and Tobago is participating in this event. In fact, my president is one
01:25of the awardees, something that we are very proud of as a nation because
01:30Indian culture is part of our national cultural landscape in our country and
01:37in the wider Caribbean. In terms of my takeaway, I believe that this is
01:43certainly the right platform to create both economic and cultural linkages and
01:51to deepen such relationships. From what I've heard in the last panel
01:58discussions and from the ministers who spoke early on today, I believe that they
02:03all share the same sentiments and they see the need for us as countries to
02:10really get together and strengthen our ties. So this is something that I'm very
02:14happy about. I'm really looking forward to engage in India further as a diplomat
02:21and also to see our countries grow and bond as the time goes by.
02:29As a diplomat, if I may ask how these events like the Prabhasi Bhati Awards can help bring the two countries even closer because of the Diaspora connection. What's your take on that and how it can help diplomatically other foreign relations?
02:45Yes, certainly, certainly. Because you see, just knowing that India recognizes the
02:53contribution of its Diaspora. And its Diaspora is large and its Diaspora is very
02:59influential. And India has recognized that, not in terms of just as a benefit
03:06to India, but as a benefit to the wider Diaspora. So it is definitely a
03:11partnership that I've seen the Indian government embark on. So it is certainly
03:17a win-win for India and of course the Diaspora and the specific countries that
03:23the Diaspora represents.
