00:00There are no gods here. There are only monsters.
00:06Welcome to Mojo Plays! And with a new Witcher game freshly announced, we've come up with 10 things we'd like to feature in the title.
00:14Be warned, there may be spoilers for previous titles.
00:17Run! To shelter! To your father!
00:22Run!

00:36More enemy variety.
00:40You hear that? It's close.
00:43Let's go give it a warm welcome.
00:46The series features one of the most extensive bestiaries in gaming, which makes sense since it's about a professional monster hunter.
00:54Still, after playing all three games, they feel less varied.
00:58Many grow tired of the constant Drowners, Neckers, and Ghouls constantly swarming them in the open world.
01:04The boss monsters face a similar issue, with many being copy-pasted like the Griffons, Nightwraiths, and Wyverns.
01:12While enemies are still quite varied, it would be quite dull if The Witcher 4 reused the same old bestiary, and we'd love if it got a major expansion.
01:24Traditional RPG progression.
01:33Excellent work.
01:34Innit? The finest hides and the tannins on offer either.
01:38A straggler here, a lobber there, sometimes a hapless calf. I've even got otter fur for you.
01:44The Witcher 2 has much more traditional RPG mechanics than its successor, an aspect many fans prefer about it.
01:51While 3 still had amazing RPG mechanics, they're less traditional than the first two games.
01:57With the popularity of Baldur's Gate 3, a game with heavy RPG mechanics, CDPR may be motivated to double down on these elements.
02:05Since being a Witcher is extremely dangerous, it would make for a more satisfying experience, offer more replayability, and freshen the experience.
02:15It would also be nice if this included more dialogue options with more impact and a branching storyline like The Witcher 2 featured.
02:22A beautiful fight, Witcher.
02:24Yeah, we didn't do so bad.
02:26Not bad? I see you're difficult to please. In that case, I shall revel in our victory within the still confines of my heart.
02:34More weapons. A Witcher's primary weapons are his silver and steel swords, one for humans and one for monsters.
02:42Although, as many fans know, sometimes humans are the real monsters.
02:47What are you doing?
02:49Killing monsters.
02:51Other weapons exist, like axes and maces, but they're not as effective as swords.
02:57Ranged weapons like crossbows and bombs were eventually added, but it's still a somewhat limited weapon selection.
03:03With Ciri taking a lead role and a whole new Witcher school, maybe more weapons will be introduced.
03:10It would also be nice if more armor slots were introduced rather than the four available in 3.
03:16More interactive world.
03:18Nay, nay, you can't. Tis tradition. Chosen she is by the gods.
03:23No!
03:26You chose her.
03:28The Witcher 3's open world was critically acclaimed and inspired a trend of expansive open world RPGs.
03:35A long time has passed since its release, and the expectations for an open world are now even higher.
03:41Hopefully, this could motivate CDPR to create a more interactive world.
03:46For example, dynamic contracts that come and go would be interesting, creating a dynamic world.
03:52Maybe killing a particular monster could change the locals' behavior.
03:56If Ciri assists a faction, they could go stronger, creating safer roads and reducing bandit populations.
04:03Cyberpunk 2077 included a more interactive world with hacking, vending machines, varied shops, etc.
04:10So maybe they'll continue to improve this aspect.
04:13It's all we wanted. For her to go to the woods. To go to the gods.
04:17Gods?
04:21There are no gods here. There are only monsters.
04:26Improved movement and combat.
04:29Because you know you don't live up to him. You know you disappoint him.
04:34I'm a better warrior than he ever was.
04:37Prove it, you little shite.
04:40The combat and movement system got better with every game in the trilogy, a trend we are optimistic will continue.
04:47In 2015, The Witcher 3 had some of the best combat in an RPG, but in the decades since, the bar has been raised by games like Sekiro and Devil May Cry 5.
04:57The combat lacks weight, gets repetitive, and most endgame battles just turn into quen spam.
05:04One way it could improve is through varied stances, which the first game featured.
05:09They've since been abandoned, but they're still used in other games like Black Myth Wukong, so maybe the Lady of Space and Time will bring them back.
05:27Better alchemy.
05:29Brewing potions is an essential part of being a witcher, but in The Witcher 3, you can avoid them for your entire game.
05:36Making alchemy optional makes sense for appealing to a massive audience, but it's not particularly lore accurate.
05:43I mean, without alchemy, we'd have no Trial of the Grasses, and witchers wouldn't even exist.
05:49We'd like to see this change for The Witcher 4, but we don't want it to feel like a chore, as it doesn't, too.
05:56Instead, it would be wonderfully refreshing if it was a whole new, interesting, and rewarding system, with more complexity than in prior games.
06:05Improved mounts.
06:13The Witcher 3 was the first entry with horse riding, and while it did the job, there was significant room for improvement.
06:20Geralt's trusty steed Roach was notoriously buggy, reminiscent of the horses in Skyrim.
06:26If Isaac Newton met Roach, he'd have to completely reconsider the laws of physics, which the horse shamelessly defies.
06:34While amusing, it's extremely immersion-breaking.
06:37Bugs aside, the horse mechanics aren't that satisfying.
06:41Maybe they should take some inspiration from Red Dead Redemption 2 for the next game,
06:46which has mechanics that make your horse feel like a realistic animal companion, rather than a force of nature.
06:59Gwent.
07:00For many fans, Gwent was the main game, and everything else serves as the backdrop for card collecting.
07:07It's easily the best-designed trading card game within a game.
07:10It was so loved that a standalone online game was developed.
07:14Of course, they had to heavily nerf unbalanced aspects of the original, like spies.
07:19Still, it's been massively successful, and has a dedicated player base, who now balance the game themselves.
07:26Fingers crossed it makes a return, and hopefully includes new leaders, archetypes, and potentially more mechanics.
07:33Maybe we can even fight monsters with cards instead of swords.
07:37Given its popularity, it has to be an auto-include for CDPR, or else the Gwent fans will have to mulligan the entire game.
07:45A smooth launch.
07:57Everyone remembers the troubled launch of Cyberpunk 2077.
08:01After almost a decade of development, and the high expectations The Witcher 3 set, excitement was through the roof.
08:08While it was still a great game, it was released with countless bugs, many game-breaking, and ran so poorly on Xbox One and PS4 that it was unplayable.
08:18It's since been patched, and the CDPR CEO says he's finally happy with it.
08:23Still, it tarnished its reputation forever.
08:26Now, we have to hope The Witcher 4 doesn't suffer the same fate.
08:30The developers crafted a new engine for the game, causing a plethora of issues, but they're back to using Unreal Engine, reducing the bug likelihood.
08:49Geralt's return.
09:01While Cintra's lion cub has always been as much the protagonist as Geralt, with hefty portions of the novels dedicated to her journey, fans love Geralt.
09:10Well, those fans will be satisfied to know he's coming back.
09:14It makes sense, since the epilogue of Seasons of Storms is set 101 years after The Witcher 3, and does feature the White Wolf.
09:23No details about his return have been revealed, leaving us to speculate.
09:28We hope his feature does the character justice, and doesn't take away from his ending in 3.
09:34The Butcher of Blaviken worked hard to acquire his vineyard, so we're curious whether he'll still have it, or if life will have soured once again for our hero.
09:53What do you want to see most in The Witcher 4?
