00:00The last day of the Pahalik drew a long line that wound and snaked its way up to the Duit Boulevard

00:06and yet faced none of the devotees who fell in line and shrugged off hours of waiting and discomfort.

00:12And if the lines of the Pahaliks were any preview for tomorrow's main event,

00:16police officials are now discounting a 6.5 million turnout, eclipsing last year's mouth crowds

00:23as we hear more from BTV's Rod Laguz at Live. Rod, good evening.

00:28Joe, just hours before the start of the annual traslacion, devotees are still waiting in line

00:34to participate in the traditional Pahalik here in Kirino Grandstand

00:38while other devotees opted to stay here in Kirino Grandstand on the eve of the Feast of Jesus Nazareno

00:45and wait for the start of traslacion tomorrow morning.

00:50Compared to yesterday, the line of devotees participating in the traditional Pahalik

00:55has grown even longer on the eve of the Feast of Jesus Nazareno.

00:59Just this afternoon, the line stretched all the way to Rojas Boulevard.

01:03Despite the long line and high heat, devotees remained eager to participate.

01:07Throughout the day, the line has kept growing as more devotees arrive.

01:11Just like tonight, the line is consistently long, hours before the start of the traslacion.

01:16One of those who fell in line is Elizabeth, a senior citizen who came from Malabon

01:20and a devotee for over two decades now.

01:23Good health to me and to my children.

01:25My studies are almost over even though I am a single mother.

01:30I am a single mother.

01:32That is all I am thankful for.

01:34Good health to me.

01:35That is what she gave me.

01:37Just like Elizabeth, other devotees have their own reasons

01:41but all of them are undeterred on the challenge posed by the long lines.

01:44When asked, devotees stress this is but a small sacrifice

01:48and nothing compares to the blessings they have received.

01:51Likewise, other devotees opted to stay through the night in the area.

01:54Some of them brought tents for tonight's rest.

01:57Others also brought...

01:58I felt sorry for myself.

01:59That is why I was given a life.

02:01I was given a vehicle.

02:03That is why I am always here.

02:05Before the Misa Mayor, a program is being held in Kirinagrand stand.

02:09This includes song and dance performances, particularly to honor and praise God.

02:15Joe, regardless of the time, devotees are still or patiently waiting

02:20for their turn here in Pahalik in Kirinagrand stand.

02:24And over two hours from now, a mass will be held to celebrate the feast of Jesus Nazareno.

02:31Rod, do we have details on the estimated number of devotees who went to Kyapo in Kirinagrand stand?

02:37In 12 midnight, that will be led by Manila Archbishop Jose Advincalet, Jr.

02:43People are still plucking here and we will wait for the start of the translation tomorrow morning.

02:53How many hours do the devotees have to wait before they can reach the image of Jesus Nazareno?

02:58Joe, the Kyapo Church expected a large number or a big number of devotees tonight.

03:05And we spoke to a devotee earlier today and she said that they fell in line around 7 am in the morning

03:17and they finish around 3 pm.

03:19Because even if there is a special lane for senior citizens, persons with disabilities,

03:25to pregnant women and others who are sick, they have to wait because the long lines is all the way from Roas Boulevard

03:36and they will still have to wait for here until their turn here in Pahalik in Kirinagrand stand.
