00:00In Uttar Pradesh, there is a wave of development and to maintain this wave,
00:05a very big role is being played by the non-indigenous Indians.
00:08The non-indigenous Indian day is being celebrated on 9th January.
00:12And when Mahatma Gandhi returned to India from his journey to South Africa,
00:17and was about to start the freedom movement,
00:20that day was on 9th January, when he came to Mumbai.
00:24And from here, the freedom movement had started.
00:27And this day is celebrated as the Indian Immigrant Day.
00:30In 2014, when Narendra Modi came to the centre,
00:34the NRI department started working for the first time in Uttar Pradesh.
00:39The NRIs were submitted from time to time.
00:41And through these non-indigenous associations,
00:45India became connected to the rest of the world.
00:48And the Indians who were abroad,
00:51the people of Uttar Pradesh,
00:53they started investing in their own state.
00:56And there is an estimated 800,000 non-indigenous Indians
01:01who are living abroad in Uttar Pradesh,
01:05who can play an important role in the development of Uttar Pradesh.
01:09The NRI department has run various schemes for them.
01:12From 2016 till now,
01:14around 40 NRIs have been awarded the NRI Ratna.
01:19They are bringing millions of dollars investment in different cities of Uttar Pradesh.
01:25In the fields of education, infrastructure, medical.
01:29And in many such areas where this investment is coming.
01:32Apart from this, Kashi Vishwanath, Mathura, Agra, Ayodhya, Lucknow,
01:38these are such cities where there is a constant movement.
01:41And the Baudha Circuit is associated with this movement.
01:44In that Baudha Circuit also, the NRIs are bringing a large number of movements.
01:49And we are getting this especially from the United States of America,
01:53from Australia, Germany, Japan, Khadi countries,
01:58and there are some other countries where a large number of people of Uttar Pradesh live.
02:03And there is a very large number of those Grimitya workers
02:07who have now become big people in countries like Trinidad, Tobago, Mauritius and Fiji.
02:13And they are looking for their roots in Uttar Pradesh.
02:16And for such people, the Indian Immigrant Department of Uttar Pradesh is playing a big role.
02:23And they are ready to do a lot for them.
02:28Non-resident Indians are playing a very big role in the development and growth of Uttar Pradesh.
02:39They are bringing a lot of expertise, global connection, and the investment together for the UP.
02:47They contribute significantly in various sectors,
02:52like real estate, education, health care, IT, and manufacturing,
03:01with their financial resources and international exposure.
03:07NRIs are also able to help to modernize the infrastructure,
03:12create job opportunities, and boost the local economy.
03:19So, all this contribution is being done by the NRIs.
03:27There are also many initiatives from the government.
03:30The NRIs community is very excited about them.
03:36And it is because of these initiatives that we have reached the point
03:41where the government has been able to give confidence to the NRIs
03:47that the resources they are bringing to UP will be protected in any way.
04:00So, it is a matter of ease of investment.
04:03The policies have been made so that it can be invested easily.
04:07Dedicated NRI sales are a big contribution that can be contacted easily.
04:15A lot of incentives and subsidies have already been planned by the government.
04:22For example, in the sector of renewable energy, IT, and manufacturing.
04:28And the focus on infrastructure is that new roads and airports are being built.
04:34Jewar International Airport is one of the flagship airports
04:38that is going to happen in UP only.
04:41So, I think this is all bringing that ecosystem together and holding it together.
04:47Different kinds of policies are also coming into play.
04:51One of them is the NRI policy, which is working to increase smart cities, education, and tourism.
04:59Another thing is that the support that the NRIs are getting from the government
05:05to some extent is that if there is any dispute, there should be a fast-track resolution.
05:12Any exclusive platform should be built in which the NRIs can easily reach out to government officials.
05:22And a recognition and reward for the NRI contribution through the awards and honors
05:29that also can be planned.
05:31And the partnership with the NRI to promote the UP's cultural heritage globally.
05:38So, that is something which is very much required.
05:40If we will put that into place, that is giving more confidence, the credibility of the government,
05:47the leader like we have our Chief Minister, Yogi Ji.
05:54He is able to give that confidence to the different NRI communities.
06:01And we are very happy and we are looking forward to meet the growth strategy
06:08and the growth plan, the development plan of the UP.
