00:00Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim is expected to face increasing political tension and a higher risk of termination of office in the coming months, according to BMI, a company under Fitch Solutions.

00:15Signs of change in the political parties that form the government's alliance may slow down Anwar's reform agenda, according to BMI.

00:26The company's investigation indicates a tension in relation to the possibility of a transition from Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry, Dengku Zafrul Aziz, from UMNO to PKR, the party led by the Prime Minister.

00:40Malaysia's risk of termination of office in the BMI political risk index rose to 28.2 this month compared to 27.5 last year.

00:54Anwar's government may also struggle to pass extensive anti-corruption amendments, according to the BMI so far.

01:04The BMI added that the court's decision to dismiss Prime Minister Zahid Hamidi, who is also the President of UMNO, may increase doubts about Anwar's commitment to fight corruption.
