00:00Of course, we are in January now and they do have the chance to bring in some reinforcements
00:06should they have the funds to do so.
00:09You mentioned Mellier already once today.
00:12Is a new keeper needed, do you think, Lee?
00:14Well, they definitely need to do something with the goalkeeper situation, yeah, because
00:18Mellier's confidence cannot be high at all, can it?
00:21I mean, it must be very, very low at the moment after that, you know.
00:23What he would say is he did respond well to the error at Sunderland, you know what I mean?
00:27So he did bounce back well from that and I wouldn't put it past him to do that again
00:30and to bounce back well, I wouldn't put it past Daniel Farker to keep the faith of him
00:34and keep him in.
00:35But obviously, the thing is, it's coming at a time when they've got an FA Cup game around
00:38the corner where basically, almost certainly, it would have come out of the team anyway.
00:42So what this does do now is it offers, obviously, an absolutely huge chance to Kyle Darlow,
00:45who is obviously a very, very experienced keeper, obviously playing for Wales, obviously
00:48knows, you know, obviously Leeds have got Wales players in the team, Roden, Dan James,
00:54et cetera, Ampadu.
00:56So, you know, like, it just all sort of like, it all works and all fits, really.
01:00And it's just a perfect chance, really, for Darlow to come in.
01:04And if he comes in and does very, very well against Harrogate Town, then, you know, like,
01:07will he stay in the team then for the league games?
01:10Possibly.
01:11I still think that Daniel Farker has always, you know, he's always defended Mellier to
01:15the hilt.
01:16You know, it's not like he's, I mean, obviously, even he can't hide the fact that, can't hide
01:21those errors at Hull City, particularly the second game, no one can get away from them.
01:24So, I mean, do they need a new keeper?
01:28Probably yes, is probably the answer, I feel, but I mean, are they going to go and get one
01:31in January?
01:32I mean, maybe, but probably not.
01:34It's a small window to operate in.
01:35I don't feel like they were going into the window sort of, you know, before this game
01:39anyway, like looking at it as a priority.
01:43That can always change.
01:44You don't know.
01:45But as I say, it's a very small window, short window to operate in.
01:47I suspect on the goalkeeper front, if something happens, it might be more on the summer.
01:51Obviously, there's always speculation about Mellier, you know, being touted at bigger
01:54clubs and stuff.
01:55But, I mean, you know, he's not going to get anywhere higher playing like that at the moment.
01:59So, I mean, you know, you can sort of forget that for the moment.
02:01I think he's also got, you know, 20-26 contracts at Leeds.
02:04So, yeah, goalkeeper's all of a sudden not something that everyone's going to talk about
02:08now in this window.
02:09Of course it is.
02:10But, I mean, and I probably think it would be a good idea, but I mean, are they going
02:13to do it?
02:14I just, you know, it's difficult to say.
02:15The other one, obviously, you know, if the goalkeeper errors can get sort of like nullified
02:20and stuff, then the other one is number 10, you know, I mean, we've said it every week
02:23on these shows.
02:24I just think there's too much dependency on, too much reliance on Brendan Aronson, who
02:28has started to do pretty well and started to chip in with goals and assists now, but
02:33it just feels like he's almost, he's not the only option because, you know, of all the
02:37players in the front line, most of them can play as a number 10, but Aronson's the one
02:40that Farke keeps turning to.
02:41And I just think, like, somebody who can really make something happen might be a good idea
02:45and could be the difference between, you know, ultimately, if it gets very, very close between
02:49top two or not.
02:50So that's the one, obviously, people look at Stryker as well, especially Patrick Bamford,
02:54obviously missing out, you know, in the game against Hull with the hamstring.
02:57We'll see how bad that is.
02:58I don't think it's too serious.
