Manuela Perteghella Presents 4,000-Strong Ellen Badger Petition to Parliament.
Transcript
00:00Thank you, Madam Deputy Speaker. I rise to present a petition signed by over 4,000 residents
00:09of Shipstone-on-Stour and surrounding villages, some of them here today in the Gallery, fighting
00:16for the return of their inpatient beds at the Helen Badger Hospital. This petition reflects
00:23the depth of feeling of a rural community that has seen their health services stripped
00:27to the bone and is fearful for the future of their hospital. Rural communities deserve
00:34the same access to healthcare as our towns and cities. The Coventry and Worcestershire
00:40Integrated Care Board must hear this loud and clear. Our rural communities must not
00:47be left behind. The petitioners therefore request that the House of Commons urge the
00:53Government to support the retainment of the inpatient beds for the Helen Badger Community
00:59Hospital in Shipstone-on-Stour, and the petitioners remain etc.
