00:00There is a lot of new infrastructure in Jalmark, be it JT or a terminal.
00:11The Prime Minister has studied the rivers in India.
00:22He has given us strength by giving the national Jalmark to 106 rivers.

00:47From 1986 to 2014, our cargo handling capacity was only 18.1 tonnes.
00:59In the last 10 years, our cargo handling capacity has increased to 133 million metric tonnes.

01:20In the national Jalmark, only Rs 1.5 billion has been invested.
01:29But in the last 10 years, more than Rs 7 billion has been invested in this sector.
01:40Because of this, the entire infrastructure has been modernised.

01:53As a result of all these projects being successful,
01:58whether it is a cruise, a passenger or a cargo,
02:04we have advanced a lot in all three verticals.
02:09Therefore, in order to move forward on this issue,

02:21and to accelerate the development process,
02:24under the direction of the Prime Minister,
02:27we have formed the Indian Waterways Development Council.
02:33In this, we will work together with all the states and stakeholders
02:38to make Jalmark a better place for the development of our society,
02:46for employment and for the well-being of our entire community.
02:56In order to make this a reality,
02:59the Indian Waterways Development Council has gathered in Kaziranga, Assam for the second time.
03:07As you all know,
03:11in the inaugural session,
03:15in the 21st state of the country,
03:19we have invested Rs. 1,400 crores in the project.
03:31The Prime Minister of Assam, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sharma,
03:37who was the main guest in the inaugural session,
03:42and with his help, we have successfully completed this project.
03:47And in the presence of the Chief Executive Officer of our 21 states,
03:54and our Honourable Minister of different states,
04:00our project has been successful.
04:03And in the next few days, we have taken many decisions
04:09so that we can strengthen this sector as much as possible.
04:14And by 2030, we hope to increase our cargo handling capacity in the Indian Waterways
04:22to 133 million metric tons,
04:26and to 200 million metric tons.
04:33In addition,
04:35in order to modernize all the facilities,
04:38in the next five years,
04:41we will invest Rs. 50,000 crores in this sector.
04:47And if you compare it with our current budget,
04:52which is more than Rs. 50,000 crores,
04:55then you can guess how much we have invested.
