00:58me in welcoming mrs. Smriti Zubin Irani vice president of the LUMBA
01:04foundation to share her thoughts it's not every day that you have your school
01:16mate giving such a glorious introduction to you Thank You Nandini an evening
01:25where I am filled with a deep sense of gratitude for miss Blair's presence as I
01:30am grateful for the blessings of Lord and Lady LUMBA and the leadership of
01:35mr. Munjan ladies and gentlemen rarely have we seen a competition amongst men
01:41to collaborate for women and that's what this evening is all about there are many
01:49amongst you who may reflect on many a journeys globally and as an Indian what
01:56I'm about to say may interest you there is a team from UN in India which is
02:01seated amongst us today which has been generous enough to also advocate support
02:07for Lord LUMBA your cause and your journey the appreciation by Sean Bishop
02:12was visible to all but what is interesting is that the United Nations
02:18celebrates three international days one being the International Day of
02:23Non-violence dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi one the International Day of Yoga
02:29courtesy the leadership of Prime Minister Modi and another day dedicated
02:35to widows the world over courtesy Lord LUMBA that all these three days
02:46celebrate human potential celebrate our capacity to ensure justice celebrates a
02:55nonviolent way of life but what is essential to mention this evening is
03:01that everybody who either came on stage to support the cause or spoke about the
03:07cause never looked upon the issues of widowhood from the perspective of
03:13victimhood a woman is anything but a victim either of circumstances or her
03:21own inabilities to meet certain challenges and the partnership today
03:26that we see manifest itself between the CII foundation and the LUMBA foundation
03:32is the reason why I was proud to bring together the women's collective forum
03:38the fact Lord LUMBA that you have dedicated yourself to ensuring that you
03:45skill a hundred thousand widows in my country a country of your birth of your
03:51ancestry is a matter of not great joy but of great gratitude as Mr. Munjal
04:00said why only stop at a hundred thousand and that's what captains of Indian
04:06industry are all about whenever the cause is just whenever the contribution
04:12is transparent and whenever the pathway has been formulated on the very
04:19foundations of compassion that's when the Indian industry also steps up
04:25individually and as a collective to support such endeavors and as Mr. Munjal
04:31said why only stop at skilling and why only stop at a hundred thousand widows
04:38today amongst us are many women who have led from the front on various issues of
04:45economy justice and governance seated in this very august gathering is a justice
04:52from the High Court of Delhi who is one of our quintessential leaders in
04:57intellectual property rights
