00:00Hello my name is Konstantinos Ratsos. I'm coming from Greece. It's my third time
00:05here. I'm very very happy and I really really enjoyed this festival here. In
00:11Greece we do fly kites. Actually there is a national kite day and it's a
00:19holiday officially and people go outside and they fly classical single line
00:24kites. Here mostly I fly duo line stunt kites. So this one is one stunt
00:37kite and I use two lines which have exactly the same length so I can control
00:44the direction of the kite. I can do maneuvers. I can do even tricks in the
00:49sky. Also we can do team flying. This year we are four
00:59people from Greece and we are team and we do kite flying together and
01:07we do maneuvers in the sky which is very beautiful and very attractive for
01:12the crowd. As you can see this is amazing amazing place and we are very
01:18very happy to be here. So in India we are mostly flying the kites on the 14th of
01:24January. It is called Uttarayan where the Sun sets for the different zodiac sign
01:30in Hindu. So on what day you are flying kites in Greece? In Greece we fly 40
01:37days before Easter so in every every year it's a different date. It's not the
01:43same date every year. We are generally flying the kites of the paper you know
01:50the local people you know but what kind of the kite you are making of what
01:58material? Again paper and with wood not bamboo but a simple wood and actually
02:05there are some similarities between the Indian Patang and the
02:10Greek classic kite which is very interesting. It's like they have maybe
02:15some sort of origin which is probably the same and this is very interesting to
02:23find some similarities between the Indian Patang and the Greek classic
02:27kite.
02:29He is telling that there is a lot of similarity between the Indian Patang and the Greek Patang
02:34which repeats the similarities of the ancient civilizations.
