00:00A popular back beach takeaway in Tynmouth has been destroyed by a devastating fire.
00:08LJ's Beach Shack had been open for business for just half an hour when the fire broke
00:13out at around 11.30am on Sunday January 12th.
00:18Despite the efforts of employees of the nearby Teen Boat Hire who tackled the flames with
00:23fire extinguishers, the fire quickly took hold and the wooden hut was well alight when
00:27three fire engines arrived on scene.
00:31It is understood there were no injuries, however the building has been completely gutted by
00:35the fire.
00:38Firefighters have worked through the morning to bring the blaze under control.
