00:00President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. told the Diplomatic Corps that despite the challenges that the Philippines is facing,
00:07the country's economy is still strong.
00:10The Diplomatic Corps was thanked by the Executive Board for its support to the government's programs.

00:22President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. praised the Philippine economy in front of the Diplomatic Corps
00:31despite the challenges that the country is facing.
00:34In his speech in Vadun or Malacanang, President Marcos praised the strong foundation of the Philippine economy
00:42after the country recorded the highest GNI per capita of US$4,335 in 2023.
00:52This means that every Filipino has a share of the country's income of P241,165.
01:03The executive board is confident that the Philippines will reach its annual income
01:09established by the World Bank for being an upper-middle-income country.
01:14Under the administration of President Marcos, the construction of infrastructures is increasing,
01:21business is accelerating, and the country's condition is improving
01:26so that the foreign countries will be able to build and strengthen the economy.
01:32The Diplomatic Corps of the country is confident under the leadership of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.
01:40According to the Apostolic Nuncio in the Philippines, Archbishop Charles Brown III,
01:45the data on inflation, economic growth, and the number of jobs has been positive
01:52which gives hope for a brighter future.
01:57This government is committed to accelerating infrastructure investments
02:01enhancing the ease of doing business and boosting national competitiveness.
02:06These will support businesses, attract foreign investments, and spur higher economic growth.
02:13With a long history and a credible record of multilateral diplomacy,
02:18the Philippines is in a very strong position to take on more leadership roles
02:24that seek to advocate for consequential issues in the global agenda.
02:31In addition, President Marcos encouraged the support of the Diplomatic Corps
02:36and their governments for the candidacy of the Philippines
02:41for the non-permanent seat of the United Nations Security Council for 2027-2028.
02:48President Marcos encouraged the rich experience of the Philippines in the pursuit of peace,
02:55unity, and the discovery of new ways of cooperation
03:00which is in the light of the country's more than 60-year contribution to UN peacekeeping operations.
03:07I take this opportunity anew to convey to your respective governments
03:12our earnest request for your support to our UNSC bid.
03:18And we hope for your support when the time comes
03:22when we are indeed sitting as a member of the Security Council.
03:28In the end, President Marcos thanked the Diplomatic Corps
03:32for their continued support to the government's programs
03:36aimed at improving the lives of Filipinos.
