00:30This particular model is one of the latest designs so the whole design is only from 2018
00:40and the engine is relatively new as well so it's quite fuel efficient and quite reliable.
00:46I mean you can fly for 5-6 hours and just not feel tired or anything just land and yeah
00:52so it makes that long inter-distance journeys possible especially with young children.
01:22There's a wealth of information online on YouTube and other channels many people who've
01:29done similar sort of builds have documented their builds and posted online so that always
01:34helps I mean that's the big thing in aviation you try to avoid other people's mistakes.
01:53Tara helped build a lot she helped with that like she understood she knew even while homeschooling
01:59when the schools were closed there was a demo she gave of the wings and she turned the laptop
02:06all of a sudden and all her teachers were like what your dad is building an aeroplane
02:09and she's like yeah look I'll show you.
02:22When we started off we didn't have the funds to fund the whole project so I was planning
02:32that we'll try and you know tighten our belts and save and all that plus maybe include some
02:38partners if we can't fund it ourself to try and get to that finish line but managed to get there.
02:52In the UK itself there's a rich tradition of home-built aircraft and this particular
03:20organisation Light Aircraft Association have been doing this for 80 odd years helping people
03:24may build and maintain aircraft. These aircraft are a bit more sophisticated with the modern
03:30avionics and you know more capabilities especially the four seats so there are a lot more stringent
03:36requirements to meet and so the inspections were catered to that we had multiple stages.
03:50Like constantly looking we even tell the girls if you can see is there any any other one yeah
04:10which you can see them on the radar but not all of them. So there are so many places far
04:19and wide remote in the UK which we haven't seen because it's yeah I mean with young children it's
04:26not easy to go there so yeah and when the when the weather is good you can literally just go
04:30I like that sense of it.
