00:00The Ministry of Energy Transformation and Water Transformation announced two main agendas in the energy sector

00:08that will be the main focus throughout Malaysia to manage ASEAN 2025.

00:14Petro-Petro Energy Co-Chair Matt Zaidi Muhammad Khali said that this agenda includes

00:19ASEAN Plan of Action for Energy Cooperation and ASEAN Power Grid Enhanced Memorandum of Understanding.

00:26The first is the ASEAN Plan of Action for Energy Cooperation from 2026 to 2030.

00:35We will try to implement it this year as part of our management, Malaysia as a manager.

00:42The second is the ASEAN Power Grid.

00:44We will try to get approval from all countries

00:48in the form of enhanced MOUs that we are planning and we have put forward for all ASEAN countries

00:56to get approval on the MOUs related to it.

01:00Ministerial Deputy Minister-in-Chief, Petro-Petro Minister Fadhilah Yusof said

01:04in a speech at the ASEAN Summit 2025 launch conference,

01:11this is the best time to prove that Malaysia is able to unify collective actions with ASEAN countries.

01:18If we can strengthen the ASEAN countries,

01:22the ASEAN network will become the economic powerhouse in the world.

01:28And there is no other way but for us to work closely with all our neighboring countries.

01:36According to Petro-Petro, this Memorandum of Understanding, among other things,

01:40will provide pressure to increase the efforts of the ASEAN infrastructure,

01:45electricity, in the ASEAN countries, so that more energy,

01:50especially based on clean sources such as hydro, solar and wind, can be traded across the border.

01:57Under ASEAN-Malaysia 2025, the ministry will manage three main energy sector meetings,

02:05namely the Special Senior Officials Meeting on Energy in Langkawi, Kedah on 22-24 January

02:11and Senior Officials Meeting on Energy in Kuching, Sarawak on 16-20 June

02:17and ASEAN Minister of Energy Meeting in Kuala Lumpur on 22-26 September 2025.
