00:00Hi, I'm Laura Reid, the Deputy Features Editor at the Yorkshire Post, and here's a look at
00:04what's coming up in the week ahead.
00:08On January 20th, the inauguration of Donald Trump as the 47th President of the United
00:13States will take place. Country music star Carrie Underwood will perform America the
00:18Beautiful at the event, taking to the stage shortly before the President-elect takes the
00:23oath of office at the US Capitol.
00:26Republican Trump is returning to the White House after winning the 2024 presidential
00:31election against Kamala Harris. He previously served as the 45th President of the US from
00:362017 to 2021, before Democrat Joe Biden took over.
00:42Elsewhere, the innovative dance troupe Akram Khan Company is performing in Bradford for
00:49the first time during the Bradford 2025 celebrations. It brings Jungle Book Reimagined, based on
00:56the much-loved story by Rudyard Kipling, to the Alhambra Theatre on January 24th and
01:0125th. Khan has reinterpreted the tale through the lens of today's children, with he and
01:06his team reimagining the journey of Mowgli through the eyes of a refugee caught up in
01:10a world devastated by the impact of climate change.
01:14Elsewhere, an immersive show will be shining a light on science at Hull Minster this week.
01:20Science will see the Minster transformed into a light show with artwork exploring chemistry
01:24and biology. It interprets artistically the scale of molecules, cells and DNA, as well
01:29as exploring the history of science and the contribution of science to humanity. That
01:34runs from January 22nd to the 25th.
01:38And finally, in Rotherham, there will be a free trail of light and sound projections
01:41through the town from 24th to 26th January. The Rotherham Winter Light Festival will feature
01:47five projection sites, each telling their own story. It's part of Rotherham's year-long
01:52celebration in becoming the world's first children's capital of culture.
