00:00now we're currently on the 101 north exiting towards west hills and unfortunately another
00:05fire has just started so to my left right there that's the palisades fire i believe
00:11and there's now more smoke coming here we're around i think 10 minutes three miles out
00:16and it started from five acres to 50 acres with a potential of a thousand acres the next 20 to
00:2330 minutes we got noose choppers in the air uh i mean there's just smoke everywhere to my left
00:28to my right here so stay tuned let's see what happens

01:35pretty sick trio cars here though nice the kenneth fire has already burned 960 acres and as we
01:41mentioned at the top of the hour this fire is now being investigated as arson one person has
01:47been detained by lapd in woodland hills and has been taken into questing some evacuation orders
01:53have been downgraded but this fire went in the canyon essentially behind west hills fairly close
01:59to hidden hills woodland hills but it kind of worked its way over more west and a little bit
02:03more north towards calabasas that's why the evacuation order was put in place especially
02:08for all the folks here on las virginas and those people man they listened to that warning and they
02:12got out quick here we are we're on the four or five south the palisades fire is around eight
02:17percent contained it's around like twenty thousand plus acres um it's looking pretty good the winds
02:21are moderate right now but there's the potential that the fires can crest over the hill near the
02:26four or five and the getty center i've got this massive wall divider here kind of blocking the
02:30view but you can see the uh the glow of said fire um there's a couple friends that want to that
02:36might need help evacuating so we're gonna head over there real quick but my goodness gracious
02:41look at that glow in the sky it looks absolutely apocalyptic got some air units all the way over
02:46there but i don't know two ridges out flames are cresting over there but over here's made
02:56some pretty significant progress over the past seven to eight minutes so we'll see how the winds
03:02blow winds are a little bit low right now luckily it's not too bad but the structures and houses
03:09right over here on mountain gate right off the four or five and getty so we'll see
03:17so people here on mountain gate are semi-evacuating we're not really sure we still got two ridge lines
03:23left look at this old mustang over here on the foreplate nice very nice always trying to car
03:28spot on a car channel mind you a lot of new viewers here don't realize i do run a car channel
03:34so 15 minutes worth of ash yeah it's cooking man it is burning look at that crazy
03:53it's moving pretty damn quick looks like they're focusing a lot of the efforts on that particular
03:56ridge but it is expanding on all fronts over here at the top of mountain gate i'll give it
04:02about half a mile from here to mandeville canyon down there and probably another two miles to where
04:06that ridge is so there's the chinook doing the job right there hold on
04:20we got like 10 news vans over here the power literally just went out
04:29and we got the fires encroaching right over here
04:34and let's get closer to the action here watch my step still wearing the sandal baby you can't see

05:35the round trip of them dropping and then coming back it's like
05:38seven to eight minutes it's pretty damn impressive

05:54thankfully the winds have died down a bit for the time being but the choppers are coming in hot over
05:59there we've got the structure protection units over here right next to the mountain gate neighborhood
06:06looks like they are pretty well equipped in case anything happens here so let's go back over here
06:12take a quick look if you guys ever want to like a good look of legacy media behind the scenes we got
06:17six seven or eight even more cameras with tripods a lot of professional equipment microphones
06:24reporters so we have the land assets moving in over there someone's getting interviewed over here
06:30these guys are just getting b-roll you got photographers left and right taking photos and
06:37behind the scenes photos yeah a couple more newscasters over there one two three four there's
06:42two more all the way in the corner over there that you can't see we got the choppers dropping water
06:47because it's getting pretty damn close to this particular house right over here
06:51and there's like a whole stretch of houses right over there where we just were over that crest so
06:56but you can still see uh you know some of those embers being tossed and spun around you know fire
07:02it likes to create its own weather system in itself so you know you see that uh you know
07:08firsthand and look at those flames i mean it's just it's incredible to see these reporters
07:15they have a master's degree in yaponomics that's right they're able to yap non-stop it's a good
07:23thing to learn a thing or two from them because a lot of people they just you know they can't talk
07:28more than like 30 seconds straight here we go got a nice little drop over here
07:32without like you know finishing a continuous thought the 24-hour news cycle is just brutal
07:38you're just you just got to figure something out to say non-stop and i just don't have that gift i
07:42wish i did i wish had i had a master's degree in yaponomics oh man dude insane they're all
07:51primed up for the shot of the night we got the clark county fire department over here rolling in
07:58oh all right and you can see their uh logos or insignias but here they come there's like
08:05eight to ten air units in the air right now doing non-stop drops they've done an amazing
08:11incredible job and of course the wind is at a minimum right now there it is embers all over
08:19the place you got the ground units in place most of the news people have left like i mentioned
08:23because there's simply just no action or it's past the bedtime i don't know either they went
08:28to no location interviewing firefighters but i don't think there's anything happening here tonight
08:34and that is some good news that we all use a nice reprieve from all the chaos and the insane
08:42insane winds and insane fires has been happening over the past 48 to 70 hours so anyways we're
08:49gonna get on out of here it's around like 1 a.m it is what it is mountain gate is safe ladies and
08:56gentlemen to give you guys an idea how serious they're taking this particular uh mandatory
09:01evacuation here in ceno and parts of brentwood and of course um where we just were on the
09:09oh more coughs at every intersection and the yellow tape they have the resources national
09:14guard in place look at this every single intersection taped off ready to roll got the
09:21cops there making sure no one goes there and does any sort of baloney or looting so we're currently
09:28here near van eyes and encino looks like they commandeered this uh hotel over here we got the
09:33beverly hills fire department and a bunch of other trucks over here as well very very sick dude
09:40culver city everyone is locking in and getting ready just in case this thing crests over
09:47tonight there's going to be some expected bigger winds luckily last night they're able to mitigate
09:52the the fire and push it back from mountain gate really remarkable for the topography that it is in
09:58how much they were able to actually stop it from coming all the way in the canyon and as you look
10:02through the fire perimeter line right here you can see almost the entire way through how they were
10:07able to cut it off just before it reached the bottom of the canyon the mandeville canyon community
10:13it's a very nice community but the issue of it and you can see it from this map here the topography
10:17is just how deep into the canyon it is and we know that the fires love to be able to run up and down
10:23a hillside and in this community specifically you've got hills literally on both sides of it
10:28that back right up against uh these homes the support has been absolutely tremendous we got
10:34a drop off right over here right off of ventura we got state and federal resources pouring in here
10:40look at this we got the national guard oh that's a nice little flare from the sun oh my god it's
10:46angeline in the corvette let's go it's angeline in the pink corvette at gelsons here in encino
10:54we got the state resources piled in over here we got the h1 hummers and the armor vehicles
10:59with the local law enforcement that was a combo ladies and gentlemen angeline is an instant
11:05hollywood los angeles staple look at this got the um national guard in place here with their armor
11:13trucks to prevent any idiots trying to go in and do a little bit of looting if shit hits the fan
11:21here in encino hills so each block has been blocked off and barricaded off with five oh
11:27cops lapd sheriff department chp and of course the national guard look at this that's the way
11:34it should be guys currently cruising down malibu pch headed towards the country mart we entered
11:40through canaan all the other roads are shut down and we don't really want to interfere with the
11:45emergency vehicles and the law enforcement they're handling that particular disaster so near the
11:51palestine so we're going to check out malibu country mart about a month ago while we were in
11:54dubai there's the malibu fire here right next to malibu canyon road and pepperdine they managed
11:59to save most of pepperdine but this part over here not so lucky but i don't know how many
12:05structures were lost it didn't seem that bad they had a pretty tremendous response and they kind of
12:10sorted it out we've got all the socal gas trucks over here near where the rouse is there's probably
12:1620 30 trucks all lined up a lot of people are focused on the death the destruction and just
12:22absolute chaos of these fires in altadena and of course the palisades and other areas
12:30but i like to see the behind the scenes of this entire operation so we're going to walk around
12:36or actually drive around rather this place is completely dead it's the country mart over here
12:41absolutely dead i'm going to try to see the behind the scenes of what it takes to run a massive
12:46operation like this to extinguish and put out these insane fires throughout this week so without
12:54further ado we're going to keep driving around and there is literally nobody here tankers getting
12:59loaded up here as well a lot of equipment a lot of la fd we got guys from wow sky valley
13:10snohomish wow people from around the state and from around the country are pulling up here
13:16to assist with the fires more uh water tankers over here west valley city
13:24i'm going to take a quick look oh there's a fuel depot over here the fuel depot for the
13:29fire trucks free water there we go very nice it's always interesting to see the logistics behind
13:35these massive fires this entire area is basically just closed look at this we got
13:42main bridge island fire department and then we got poles bowl fire department got um places to eat
13:52porta potties a lot of trucks a lot of tents crazy this whole operation is massive and this is just
14:01part of it here near the palisades area we're not even near the command uh post uh pch central
14:07mason fire we got weed fire department i can't read that for san diego crew this is insane
14:16people from around the state and from around the country are pulling up
14:21got the mobile sleeper company here for people to take a nice little nap rest their heads after
14:26long days of work goodness this whole behind the scenes operation is honestly just as fascinating
14:34look how quiet is here at the country mart the shell station pch it is an absolute ghost town
14:41caution tape everywhere some of these businesses are are still open too behind me literally nothing
14:47dude that is it i know it's been said time and time again but we got to thank our first responders
14:55all the firefighters all the emergency personnel of course honestly everyone involved with this
15:00particular uh emergency disaster uh i just never say anything quite like it you know i mentioned
15:07my previous videos we've seen isolated incidents you know we've seen wildfires actually we've seen
15:13you know a lot of things on this channel not just cars but this is this is this is a defining moment
15:19in los angeles but i feel like the city's going to come together we're going to pull together
15:24and we're going to get past this and they're going to rebuild so that being said check this out
15:29look at all this all the the gas company the socal gas company trucks and cars there's like
15:36another 30 40 of them here there are another 20 plus at the uh ralph's lot i thought i was going
15:42to get closer unfortunately that's not the case we're going to turn around here i don't think
15:46they're going to let anyone pass we've got the national guard over there um well that pretty
15:52much concludes our uh limited tour of the behind the scenes operations here near the palisades
15:58fire i gotta say that is a pretty beat boson fake wrap two-tone the uh the rear is like shaking a
16:06little bit and then there's like a massive dent on the uh driver's side rear corner four to five
16:12days ago this entire area was completely nearly empty they're using this as staging grounds for
16:19all the firefighters here but it looks like they transformed this entire rose bowl parking lot
16:25into a massive tent city we're gonna go over there and try and take a look here but my goodness
16:31gracious wow tremendous effort guys all the heavy machinery look at that bulldozer the vk9 and 86
16:41wide load jeez in times of emergency situations like this and even times of war the supply chains
16:51is what makes or break an army or a fire brigade or a fire response team like this
16:58look at the logistics here we got trailers we got mobile command centers bulldozers
17:03field depots water tanks all the food trucks are over here porta potties nice little lunch
17:11area for all the firefighters look at all this they brought their own sleeping bags and their
17:16tents at least some of them did i had no idea crazy it's the kind of stuff that you don't see
17:26on other people's channels or on the news the behind the scenes logistics of this entire operation
17:32near the eaton fire near altina near altadena and pasadena excuse me is absolutely insane look at
17:40this tent city that popped up over the past 48 to 72 hours none of this was here on wednesday and
17:46thursday i believe we got like every imaginable law enforcement cal fire fire department from
17:54all counties and states all amassed here at the rose bowl stadium parking
18:03elko county wow city of east city of yon is saudi afire
18:15tahoe douglas i believe wow carneros
18:22river delta i'm a written county over there my goodness we're doing like fire truck and fire
18:28equipment heavy duty rescue spotting here now it's no longer a car channel man the saint helena
18:35the white trucks pretty mint man good spec wow look at that trailer the marin county ca
18:42rtf1 special operations massive trailer you wouldn't see half of it right now
18:49we were right here at the santa anita raceway i mentioned earlier how the rose bowl was not
18:54accepting any more donations they turned that into an hq or a base camp for all the firefighters and
19:01the emergency personnel so they transfer all the donations to the santa anita raceway let's go
19:08check it out look at this assembly line over here people just dropping stuff off at the
19:15line over here people just dropping stuff off over there it gets handed over one at a time
19:23all these good samaritans spending their weekend here to help out unbelievable stuff here look at
19:29that wow tremendous work guys there's a lot of activity here a lot of people donating a lot of
19:37people needing stuff that entire truckload is being offloaded here
20:07depending on size men's or women's shoes got live bands over there got free food
20:16insane there's a whole map over here too they got a map on a cardboard
20:19as to if you need something you know where to go crazy
20:27that's right we're not showing only the destruction the mayhem
20:31and the chaos and the aftermath of said fires but we're going to show you
20:35a lot of the behind the scenes stuff that most people aren't going to come here and film
20:40and show you guys but wow just an outpouring of help from across the community to warm anyone's
20:49cold steely heart they have a whole toy section over here for the kids food clothes water pre-packaged
20:59food live band over here there's a dj cross that we just passed near the dr pepper
21:05uh truck over there look at this
21:15that's just a taste of some of the behind the scenes of this crazy logistical support that
21:20these firefighters are getting now from the state level out of state and of course the federal level
21:25and then you have all the outpouring of support and donations at the santa ana or santa anita
21:31the real question is how long will this generosity and the donations and outpouring of relief effort
21:37and support will really last the people who are affected by the fires are in for the long haul
21:42it's going to be a multi-year process relocating their families their loved ones finding temporary
21:50rent or a house or a hotel and then the possibility of rebuilding their house not quite out of this
21:56disaster just yet the Santa Ana winds are picking up later tonight it's going to last till Wednesday
22:03so we have a red flag warning and anything can happen a flare up embers running around maybe
22:09another arson might be running around or another telephone pole or like an electrical grid might
22:15spark another fire we're really not even sure how any of these started there are federal and state
22:21investigations happening very very soon stay safe stay alert be ready and uh if you guys want to
