The BMW Group presents the driving and user experience of the future at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025 in Las Vegas. BMW is providing the first opportunity to experience the close-to-production version of the new BMW iDrive – complete with its centrepiece, BMW Panoramic Vision – at the event. The software underpinning it all is the new BMW Operating System X, which acts as the intelligence hub behind the new display and operating concept. The holistic system, with its modern, style-shaping design, will be introduced in all new BMW models from the end of 2025.
The combination of these four elements re-interprets BMW’s customary “hands on the wheel, eyes on the road” approach, with which BMW sets the benchmark for driver focus and presents a unique form of intuitive, use-friendly and ergonomically optimised operation. The BMW Panoramic iDrive always gives the driver the right information in the right place and at the right time. The system continues the approach of using an optimal combination of analogue and digital controls through the use of switches, buttons, touch and voice control. There are haptic switches for the windscreen wipers, turn signal indicators, exterior mirrors, volume control, gear selectors and window de-icers. Other functions are optimised for operation using touch/voice control or via the multifunction steering wheel, such as telephone functions, media control systems, navigation, assisted driving, personalisation of displays, selection of MyModes and much more besides.

01:05the whole width of the windscreen and will be visible for all passengers.
01:11Perfectly positioned in the direct field of vision it supports the driver in the
01:18best possible way. We have focused on a very clean design for easy and quick
01:24readability. The floating tile on the left focuses on driving assistance
01:31functions. The right tile shows important information like battery state and range.
01:39But the most important information for the driver for example speed or driving
01:45status is shown right at the center. Now this arrangement allows you to quickly
01:51check all the information you need as a driver without any distractions. Keeping
01:58the hands on the wheel and your eyes on the road. The new digital abilities of
02:05our cars will not only make them more intelligent and easier to use but will
02:10also allow for much more personalization. I can't wait for all of you to try it

02:43For the ready-to-drive moment we created the new live vehicle panel. An overlay
02:51central display that quickly and easily shows you if you're everything to set to
02:56go at the beginning of every drive. I wanted to tell you about an emotional
03:02highlight. Our BMW intelligent personal assistant. Which is by far more than a
03:09simple voice assistant. Introducing large language model for navigation will be
03:15our first step towards enabling a truly natural and reliable interaction for our

03:38okay so let's check how iDrive helps our customers while driving. On the right
03:55hand side behind the steering wheel you can see upcoming turns. You can see and
04:01in the middle of the panoramic vision you will get additional information on
04:05lane exit sites and junction. In the BMW 3D head-up display you see the key
04:11information for the immediate driving situation, slightly adaptive perspective
04:16and zoom. In the central display there's our beautiful rendered 3D maps right at
04:22hand. With our customer-centric FriTech approach we create a new and even
04:30easier interaction with our steering wheel. In the function becomes available
04:36it will appear as you can see here with a white icon. The driving assistant
04:43system are available. Let's turn the driving assistant on. After pushing the
04:48button the green illumination tells me what this is active. We show the driver
04:55what they need at the right time. Navigation and driving assistance are
05:01combined for the first time in one 3D view in the new 3D head-up display. Now
05:14what about switching to a different driving mode? If you want the

06:05easily activated by one command or touch. It will change a number of
06:13settings in the car to allow for a more dynamic driving experience. But we
06:18believe that sporty driving is about much more than just a few settings. It is
06:25a truly holistic experience. A combination of sound, light and a more
06:30vibrant interface design like you just saw. At the same time the panoramic
06:37vision shows you more detailed driver information that you can toggle through
06:42just by using the right hand spoke of your steering wheel. Now in addition to
06:49the sport efficient and silent my modes we are introducing a new personal mode.
06:56In this mode you can completely customize your driving settings as well
07:02as the look and feel of your user interface to make your personal mode
07:07truly yours. In order to do that you can now not only customize interior lighting
