00:06What is the preparations of NDLRF?
00:08I would like to brief your viewers that Mourning Amavasya is one of the Amrit Snans and that is the peak Snan period.
00:16So, as per the information which we have got till date, on 14th of January, which was Makar Sankranti,
00:22approximately 3 crore people have taken the dip. So, we are expecting much more than this number on 29th of January.
00:30So, we along with the other agencies, because this you will know, is a team effort. NDRF is there, we have SDRF,
00:38and this is obviously the first role, the most important role was played by the local state police and other agencies which are there.
00:46So, as a team, we have all prepared for this. We have done coordination meetings, we have done mock exercises.
00:53As NDRF, we are there, we have deployed 20 teams. We have deployed about 12 teams in 2019.
01:00This time, because this is a Mahakum, so we have deployed 8 extra teams, so it's now 20 teams.
01:05And we have also trained the people who are involved in disaster response from other forces.
01:11And we have also trained our own people. So, the purpose is that we should be prepared to handle any emergency.
01:18And for the first time in our history, we have also trained the boatmen. Because it is expected that wherever there is a water body,
01:26water disasters are more probable, more possible. So, the boatmen are there, they are basically ferrying people on the boats.
01:34And they are the first one to respond. So, we did an analysis, we realized that all these boatmen are excellent swimmers.
01:40But there is a small extra training which is required to make an excellent swimmer to a rescuer.
