00:00Hi, I'm Carnie Wilson and I'm going to take us back.
00:03This is going back a long time.
00:04This is 34 years ago when we heard Hold On on the radio for the first time.
00:08We were actually in a van and I think we were in Memphis, Tennessee and we were on our way
00:14to a special lunch with a radio station because we were trying to get that ad for the radio
00:18station back in the day.
00:20And Hold On came on and we were in the van and we started screaming and freaking out
00:26and it sounded so good.
00:28But I noticed they really compressed it so it sounded really different.
00:30Our voices sounded like squished.
00:33But it was so cool.
00:34And right here I'm wearing, I had like eight Richard Tyler suits made.
00:40And I remember that I felt so lucky because Janet Jackson loved Richard Tyler.
00:44So I got to use Janet Jackson's, you know, stylist or her fashion designer and that was
00:51a big coat.
00:53I think this picture we were in Memphis, Tennessee and I literally was sweating, beads of sweat
00:58coming down my cheeks.
00:59And of course Chyna and Wendy had no sweat at all.
01:02That was great.
01:03But there's my Richard Tyler suit.
01:05Love that.
01:06Okay, I'm taking you back to the music video Hold On on the beach.
01:10This was so awesome.
01:11This was in Venice, California.
01:14The iconic video of us singing.
01:17My hand was numb because I was on it for like two hours like this.
01:21And another Richard Tyler suit.
01:23And that was just an amazing video.
01:25Walking down the boardwalk and all these people watching us.
01:28And we kept saying, nobody knows who we are yet.
01:31We haven't even released this yet.
01:33Nobody knows who we are.
01:34We were thinking, what is it going to be like a year from now, you know?
01:36I'll never forget that.
01:38This is our first red carpet appearance.
01:42Wow.
01:43That suit was very big on me.
01:45But anyway, here's another one.
01:48I love my blue and black striped outfit.
01:52I don't know why they always had me in a suit.
01:54What's up with that?
01:55I mean, I liked it, but I could have worn a dress.
01:59Why the hell not?
02:00Anyway, we looked absolutely gorgeous.
02:02And I actually look five years old.
02:03But anyway.
02:04Hi, my signature bangs.
02:05I kind of want to do that again.
02:06I kind of want to have like a good bob with a bang.
02:11Back to red.
02:12Of course, I love my red.
02:13I actually want to know where we do have something in storage, but I forgot who has
02:19it.
02:20We have our, from our tour, we have those wardrobe cases.
02:24And I know that there's a Richard Tyler suit in there.
02:28Yeah.
02:29I auctioned off my, for charity, my bridesmaid's jacket.
02:33That was cool.
02:34Oh, me with daddy.
02:37I think this was at Radio City Music Hall, I believe.
02:40I love singing with my father.
02:42This was great.
02:43And yeah, I mean, we've made music together, we've recorded together, and it's just a blessing
02:49to be able to sing with him.
02:50So I love you, daddy.
02:51I once asked my dad, I said, how did you, what's God Only Knows about?
02:56Because that's my favorite song.
02:57It's Paul McCartney's favorite song, too.
02:59So he said to me, it's about God.
03:01It's a spiritual song.
03:02I went, it's not a love song?
03:03He goes, no, it's about God.
03:05So I got a tattoo.
03:06God Only Knows.
03:07Isn't that great?
03:09Oh, my baby.
03:10My honey.
03:12Jesus, we're young.
03:13My husband, Rob.
03:15Isn't he handsome?
03:16He's so handsome.
03:18Yeah, we met in Philly.
03:20I was doing a show for Vet Rock, for the veterans.
03:24And I saw this gorgeous guy in the food tent with this great smile, these big white teeth.
03:30And I was like, who are you?
03:31And he's like, I used to watch your talk show.
03:33And I enjoyed watching you.
03:35I said, thanks.
03:36And this is when I was at my heaviest weight.
03:39I remember that.
03:40We got together immediately.
03:41And he was by my side through everything.
03:44And we got married a year later.
03:46We didn't wait long.
03:47Never left each other.
03:48We knew that we were each other's spirit animal, spirit connector, whatever.
03:53Yeah, that's my Rob.
03:56That's my Robbie.
03:58OK, performing with Wilson Phillips for the first time in 10 years.
04:02That's right.
04:03This was a tribute to my father, I think, at Radio City Music Hall.
04:06And Wilson Phillips, we all sang.
04:09And we sang a song called You're So Good to Me, which was a Beach Boys song.
04:13And I was my thinnest, my thinnest weight.
04:18My hair, what the was I thinking with my hair?
04:20I don't know if you can even see this.
04:22But it was like feathered back, short and feathered, hideous hair.
04:26I put this weird flower in my hair.
04:28Kind of embarrassing.
04:29But I had this hot jumpsuit on.
04:32And I showed like my bra, and I showed a little bit of my tummy.
04:35That was a big moment for me.
04:38So it is very special.
04:40And it was great to reunite with the girls.
04:43Wow.
04:45We were all the same like frame.
04:47That's a trip.
04:49And then the Masked Singer.
04:51That's another one where you could tell nobody was fat.
04:53Bridesmaids, woohoo!
04:55There's the jacket.
04:57Bridesmaids was great!
04:59Yeah, we filmed in the middle of the night.
05:01It was like from 1 to 3 a.m.
05:03It was the middle of the summer.
05:05It was very hot.
05:06And they had this big fan.
05:07I kept like bending over and fanning my ass in the middle of the night.
05:10And the audience loved it.
05:12I think we took like 21 takes of singing Hold On.
05:14Never sang Hold On more than that night.
05:16And it was the best ever.
05:19And the girls were the best.
05:21Maya and Kristen and Melissa, everyone.
05:25That was a blessing.
05:27Yeah, Bridesmaids rocks.
05:29I love being on an airplane and like seeing someone watch Bridesmaids.
05:34I kind of want to go...
05:36And in the theater, everybody was cheering when Hold On came on.
05:40People were actually cheering.
05:42That was the best.
05:43Okay, yes, Chop Champion.
05:44This is when I won Chopped.
05:46That was the moment.
05:47That was the best feeling.
05:49Well, second to best having my own show.
05:51My own cooking show.
05:53This was, I don't know what's harder.
05:55Childbirth or Chopped?
05:57I don't know.
05:58I think Chopped.
05:59Swear to God.
06:00That was absolutely the hardest thing ever.
06:02But what a great notch on my belt.
06:04And here's Mark McGrath on my cooking show.
06:07Sounds delicious.
06:09Mark is an amazing guy.
06:11Mark McGrath is hot.
06:14Great singer.
06:15Great band.
06:16Hard worker.
06:17Tours all year round.
06:18But a great guy.
06:19And a really good friend.
06:21Wendy and I recorded on Sugar Ray's Little Saint Nick Christmas song.
06:25My dad's song called Little Saint Nick.
06:27And Sugar Ray did a great version and we did that.
06:29And I said, would you come on my cooking show?
06:31Would you cook with me?
06:32And he said, I'd love to.
06:34So this is our first episode and we frickin' knock it out of the park.
06:37It's so good.
06:39It's so funny.
06:40And I love you, Mark.
