Transcript
00:00The NSW Government has obviously been in constant negotiations with rail unions for the last
00:06eight months.
00:07We have presented a good faith fair offer to employees in the railways in the last 48
00:13hours.
00:14We were hopeful that that offer would be accepted by the industrial unions, however in the intervening
00:19period there's been widespread industrial chaos on the transport network in NSW.
00:26The scenes last night at NSW train stations of literally hundreds of people scrambling
00:32to get home from the station in the face of an oncoming storm give you all the evidence
00:38that you need that this industrial dispute has gone on long enough.
00:42As a result of that the Government will make an application in the Fair Work Commission,
00:46a 424 application in the Fair Work Commission this morning to end protected industrial action
00:53in NSW and move to an arbitrated decision by the Fair Work umpire.
