British pop artist Philip Colbert has launched a city-wide art exhibition featuring giant colourful lobsters across the Chinese region of Macau.
The largest, a 15-metre-high inflatable sculpture entitled "Lobster Submarine", can be seen from the city's waterfront.
The outdoor exhibition runs from January 15 to March 16 at five venues across Macau, including the historical sites of Iec Long Firecracker Factory and Taipa Houses, as part of a community revitalisation project. AND SOUNDBITES

00:00It felt a very natural sort of fit for my character to do this sort of Macau takeover
00:27being on the sea, but I think specifically the submarine was an inspiration for me because
00:32when I grew up I was obsessed with the Beatles' Yellow Submarine, and I loved the energy of
00:36the song.
00:37I grew up in rural Scotland, and as special treats my parents would take me to the seaside,
00:49and somehow these lobster characters struck me as like aliens from another planet, and
00:53I find that the energy between the human and the lobster just inspired a feeling of
00:57surrealism.
00:58So I think that inspired me as an artist to then become this lobster character, as a sort
01:02of expression of my own creative freedom.
01:23Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you.
