00:00President Bongbong Marcos admitted that he is not happy with the 2025 national budget passed by the Congress.

00:08The budget as was passed, you could describe it as suboptimal, but we are remedying that situation.

00:15Let me put it simply, what we are doing is, those who were not included in the National Expenditure Program,

00:24those who were not given funds, we are looking for savings so that those funds can be reimbursed.

00:32Some of the funds that the President is looking for are for DAPs, funds for education projects, and funds for tourism.

00:42As for impeachment against Vice President Sara Duterte, the President agreed to the opinion of his Chief Presidential Legal Counsel, Juan Ponce Enrile,

00:53that there will be an unfavorable President if he follows the ideas behind the rally of the Iglesia Ni Cristo last Monday against impeachment.

01:03But the President insisted that this is not the right time to do this.

01:09He is right. There is a consequence to, there will be a precedence and it will be very problematic.

01:16The House doesn't have a choice and the Senate doesn't have a choice once these impeachment complaints are filed.

01:23But I don't think that now is the time to go through that.

01:27So we will let it be for now. As a practical matter, we will enter the campaign period.

01:34The congressmen and senators are not there because they are already campaigning.

01:38The creation of the Department of Economy, Planning and Development or DepDev is being promoted.

01:44This is the replacement for the National Economic and Development Authority or NEDA.

01:49Under the last session of the Senate and House of Representatives,

01:53the new administration will be given additional responsibility when it comes to the creation of the government budget.

01:59According to Senator Juan Miguel Zubiri, who led the session on Wednesday,

02:04the session will be held at the Bicameral Conference Committee and is expected to be ratified on the same day.

02:11It is expected that the President will sign it on the first week of February.
