00:00The nominee for the next U.S. Secretary of State, U.S. Senator Marco Rubio,
00:06called for China's harassment of the Philippines.
00:09Rubio added that China should stop harassing the Philippines and Taiwan.
00:16Witness, J.P. Soriano.
00:17It leads PRC is the most potent and dangerous near-peer adversary this nation has ever confronted.
00:30They lied about not militarizing and populating island chains in the South China Sea and the like.
00:35The nomination of U.S. President-elect Donald Trump for the next U.S. Secretary of State, U.S. Senator Marco Rubio, will be heavy.
00:44They have repressed, and lied, and cheated, and hacked, and stolen their way into global superpower status.
00:51And they have done so at our expense and at the expense of the people of their own country.
00:57It's time for Rubio to be the next U.S. Secretary of State.
01:00He will be the first nominee for the next U.S. Secretary of State, U.S. Senator Marco Rubio,
01:04when it comes to foreign affairs and implementing its foreign policy.
01:09In Rubio's confirmation hearing in the U.S. Senate, he mentioned what China is doing to Taiwan and the Philippines.
01:17The actions they are taking now are deeply destabilizing.
01:20They are forcing us to take counteractions because we have commitments to the Philippines
01:24and we have commitments to Taiwan that we intend to keep.
01:28They really need to stop messing around with Taiwan and with the Philippines
01:32because it's forcing us to focus our attention in ways we prefer not to have to.
01:37One of the reasons why China is sending its ships to our Exclusive Economic Zone
01:44There's this massive, I don't even know how to describe it, but this massive ship
01:47that the Chinese have built that's like headed towards the Philippines and the Philippines feels threatened by it, rightfully so.
01:53We've seen this on a daily basis with the harassment and so forth, but on a daily basis.
01:57Rubio did not specify which ship it is,
02:00but the China Coast Guard Vessel 5901, also known as the Monster Ship, is still in the Philippines' EEZ.
02:08It was once again challenged by the Philippine Coast Guard's BRP Gabriela Silang.
02:14You are advised that you are currently sailing inside the Philippines' Exclusive Economic Zone
02:20approximately 60.1 nautical miles from the coastline west of Capones Point, Zambales, Philippines.
02:30You are directed to depart immediately and notify us of your intentions.
02:35Your illegal activity will be reported to higher authorities.
02:40This is China Coast Guard Vessel 5901.
02:45I'm performing law enforcement duties on the jurisdictional waters of the People's Republic of China.
02:53The so-called waters for the South China Sea arbitration is illegal and invalid.
02:59To avoid speculation, leave the area immediately and stay away from it.
03:05The Philippines protested against the existence of the Monster Ship in our EEZ.
03:10China also protested against the outrageous acts of the Philippines.
03:16The Philippines should follow the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the South China Sea
03:23and continue the dialogue.
03:25DFA Secretary Enrique Manalo said that such statements by China are no longer new.
03:32For GMA Integrated News, I am JP Soriano, your witness.
03:39The group formed by human rights defenders and victims of extrajudicial killings
03:46against former President Rodrigo Duterte has filed a disbarment case.
03:50Witness, Mackie Pulido.
03:51After a few decades, the second person who wants to violate our Constitution is...
04:04News, video clips, social media posts, and testimonies of former President Rodrigo Duterte in the Quadcom.
04:11I told the police, you police, if you go into drugs, you will be the first.
04:20Some of them are evidence of the group that filed a disbarment case against the former President.
04:25The petition was filed in the office of the Bar Confident of the Supreme Court
04:28of the victims of extrajudicial killings and human rights defenders earlier this morning.
04:34They also asked that while the Supreme Court is deciding the disbarment case,
04:38the former President's license be suspended first.
04:41They were triggered when the former President said that he will be the lawyer of the son of Vice President Sara
04:46in case there will be an impeachment trial.
04:48The entire people here are witnesses.
04:50We saw how they were humiliated, we saw how the women were humiliated,
04:55how the process was short-cut, how the process was ignored,
04:59how this person was killed.
05:02He has no right to be a lawyer in our country.
05:06Duterte is belittling the profession of being a lawyer.
05:10We are listening to the reaction of the former President.
05:13But according to his former presidential spokesperson, Atty. Salvador Panelo,
05:17he still does not know the basis of the disbarment case.
05:20I don't know what will be the decision of the President on the disbarment.
05:26We'll leave it to them.
05:27For GMA Integrated News, I am Mackie Pulido, your witness.
05:34It is possible that the price of oil will increase next week.
05:38According to the Oil Industry Management Bureau of the Department of Energy,
05:41up to Php 2.60 is the possible price increase per liter of diesel.
05:47Up to Php 1.60 is the possible price increase per liter of gasoline.
05:53As for kerosene, up to Php 2.50 is the possible price increase.
05:59This is based on the four-day trading.
06:02And as far as the reason for the price increase is concerned,
06:05the implementation of the new sanctions of America and the United Kingdom
06:09to Russia, one of the largest oil producers in the world.
06:16President Bongbong Marcos admitted that he is not happy with the 2025 National Budget of the Congress.
06:23The budget, as was passed, you could describe it as suboptimal.
06:28But we are remedying that situation.
06:30Let me put it simply.
06:32What we are doing is, those who were not included in the National Expenditure Program,
06:39those who were not given funds, we are looking for savings to return those funds.
06:48Some of the funds that the President is looking for are for DAGs,
06:52funds for education projects and funds for tourism.
06:57As for impeachment against Vice President Sara Duterte,
07:01the President agreed to the opinion of his Chief Presidential Legal Counsel, Juan Ponce Enrile,
07:08that there will be a bad president if he follows the ideas behind the rally
07:14of the Church Of Christ last Monday against impeachment.
07:18But the President still argued that this is not the right time to do this.
07:24He is right. There is a consequence to, there will be a precedence
07:28and it will be very problematic.
07:31The House doesn't have a choice and the Senate doesn't have a choice
07:35once these impeachment complaints are filed.
07:38But I don't think that now is the time to go through that.
07:41So we will let it pass.
07:45Total, as a practical matter, we will enter the campaign period.
07:49The Congressmen are no longer there because they are already campaigning.
07:53The creation of the Department of Economy, Planning and Development or DEPDEV is being promoted.
07:59This is the replacement for the National Economic and Development Authority or NEDA.
08:04Under the previous election to the Senate and House of Representatives,
08:08the new administration will be given additional responsibility
08:11when it comes to the creation of the government budget.
08:14According to Senator Juan Miguel Zubiri, who is running for the election on Wednesday,
08:19the Bicameral Conference Committee will hold a hearing
08:23and it is expected that it will be ratified on the same day.
08:27It is expected that the President will sign it on the first week of February.
08:32For GMA Integrated News, Tina Panganiban-Perez is your witness.
08:38In Cebu, the Sinulog Grand Parade is being awaited on the coming Sunday.
08:42And earlier, the traditional Penitential Walk with Mary was held.
08:47Witness Nico Sereno of GMA Regional TV.
09:17Virgin Mary and Candles.
09:19The Penitential Walk with Mary was held on the last day of the 9-Day Novena
09:24which is part of the 460th Fiesta Senor Celebration.
09:28There was also a Mass of Translations in the Basilica.
09:32Next is the translation where the image of Saint Nino and Virgin Mary is shown
09:38towards Mandaue City.
09:40In the translation that will be held,
09:41the meeting of the Holy Family
09:45where the image of the patron of Mandaue, Saint Jose, is shown.
09:50The motorcade went straight to the National Shrine of Saint Joseph in Mandaue
09:55where the Welcome Mass was held.
09:58Later that night, the translation will be held
10:01as a preparation for the Fluvial Procession in Mactan Channel tomorrow morning.
10:06Tomorrow afternoon, the Solemn Foot Procession will be held.
10:10The people of Cebu are also eagerly waiting for the Sinulo Grand Parade.
10:15For GMA Integrated News, I am Nico Sereno of GMA Regional TV.
10:20Your witness.
10:24The streets in Manila are closed starting tomorrow night
10:27due to the celebration of Saint Nino de Tondo.
10:30And the streets are also preparing for the Street Dance.
10:33Witness, Jamie Santos.
10:35We were able to catch up with this group of youth in Francisco Street, Tondo, Manila.
10:46Their group is busy with the procession that will be held tomorrow morning.
10:51The procession is the Street Dance at Tila Ati-Atihan ng Tondo
10:55that they have been celebrating for years as a tribute and thanksgiving to Saint Nino.
11:00First of all, you are all gathering together.
11:04This is what we have been talking about.
11:07Because my father is no longer here, I am praying for myself.
11:12You can see what I am doing.
11:14We are here now in Francisco Street where the last minute practice is being held.
11:20This group of youth and all of them are part of the procession that will be held tomorrow.
11:26The procession is part of the celebration of the feast of Saint Nino de Tondo.
11:32The Street Dance is a colorful tradition that is performed as a dance.
11:36The purpose of the dance is to fulfill the wishes of Saint Nino.
11:40It is a prayer that glorifies Saint Nino de Tondo.
11:43It also serves as a guide and gives hope to the devotees.
11:47The original title of this dance is Caracol.
11:52This is the dance of people in Saint Nino
11:55From the time he was in the sea, when he was tired,
12:00until he was brought down here in Manila Bay,
12:04people will gather and it is called Caracol.
12:08When the sea was no longer there,
12:12it was called Lakbayaw because people are organized in every barangay
12:17and they are the ones who dance.
12:18That is why they were given the wish to dance to Saint Nino.
12:21There is also an influence of history
12:24that is why the devotion of the Philippine Catholics to Saint Nino de Tondo is strong.
12:28Saint Nino is the second oldest image in the country,
12:32followed by the one in Cebu.
12:34Saint Nino is close to the hearts of every Filipino
12:37because if we look back,
12:38the image of Saint Nino was the instrument of the convention
12:43to fulfill their mission of making the Philippines Catholic.
12:48The devotion of Saint Nino de Tondo is the reason why we were able to buy the clothes of Saint Nino
12:53outside of the convention.
12:55They are thankful because they were given the wish of a son who is a man.
13:00We believe that Saint Nino is the one who gave us Mateo
13:04and also our business.
13:06The one who gave us Mateo,
13:08we always pray that we will have a baby.
13:12Even the ones who sell the clothes of Saint Nino
13:14believe in the blessings in their lives.
13:17We are looking for our children.
13:19If we have a problem, we will solve it.
13:23There are roads that will be closed due to traffic jams.
13:26The part of Enzamora Street from Muriones to Chacon Street is included.
13:31Santa Maria Street from Muriones Street to Morga Street.
