Singapore President appreciates vibrant cultural display at Kalabhoomi crafts museum

Bhubaneswar: Singapore President Tharman Shanmugaratnam visited Kalabhoomi on Yesterday. He spent a long four hours at the art gallery and highly appreciated the art, handicrafts and handicrafts of Odisha. The President spent time from 7.30 pm to 11.30 pm. He was amazed by the unique artworks of Odisha displayed there. He expressed happiness and appreciated the Utkal artworks. First of all, he visited the Jagannath Gallery in this complex. He saw various costumes of Jagannath, chariot wheels, replicas of chariots, kudua used in preparing Mahaprasad, etc. He spent some time in the Jagannath Gallery and also appreciated the spiritual consciousness and traditions of Odisha. President's wife pays with UPI for buying saree: The President visited various galleries of the art gallery and saw art, handicrafts and handicrafts of Odisha. He visited the handicrafts and handloom gallery at Kalabhoomi and inquired about the weaving techniques of Karuna Shilk, Kotpad Saree, Sambalpuri, and Manibandha Saree. The President's wife also bought a saree. She paid for it through UPI. This digital payment system of India has gained fame all over the world as an easy and simple payment system. He also visited Chandua, tribal paintings, Kainch and Sabai grass handicrafts, brass utensils, cushions, silver thread work, Pattachitra sarees, paper-made artworks, etc. Enjoyed cultural programs along with dinner:- The President also watched cultural programs along with dinner. He attended a dinner party organized at Kalabhoomi and appreciated Odia cuisine. The President was served traditional Odia food. He commented that Odisha food is very delicious. Later, a cultural program was organized to reflect the close ties between the two countries. Along with Odissi dance, a fusion dance of Odisha and Singapore was performed for the President and his wife. The President also praised Odissi dance and music. During the visit, the spouse of the Singapore President, Odisha Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati and his spouse, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and Tank Dharmapatti, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Bardhan Singh Deo, members of the state cabinet, Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi were prominently present.
