King Saul and the Israelite army are confronted with overwhelming odds as they face the Philistine forces and their champion, Goliath. In an unexpected turn, the young David defeats Goliath and leads the Israelites to triumph over the Philistines. Fearing that David seeks to take his throne, Saul betrays his faithful warrior. This betrayal marks Saul's downfall, and David eventually becomes king, capturing Jerusalem for the Israelites.
