00:00Andrew and John went to the city. On their way there, they met Jack and the three men decided to travel together.

00:08When they took a break, Jack asked his companions to share some food with him.

00:13He had eight coins, while Andrew had five loaves of bread, and John had three loaves of bread.

00:20The guys divided all that bread equally between the three of them.

00:24After they had a meal, Jack divided the money fairly. How did he do it?

00:30Jack gave Andrew seven coins, and John got from him just one coin.

00:41The thing is, the men divided each loaf of bread this way, into three pieces.

00:47Altogether, they had 24 pieces.

00:50Andrew had 15 pieces of bread. He ate eight of them himself and gave seven to Jack.

00:55John had nine pieces of bread. He ate eight of them and gave the remaining one to Jack.

01:01So, Jack gave one coin for each piece of bread.

01:04Seven coins to Andrew, who had given him seven pieces of bread, and one coin to John for that one piece of bread he had shared.
