00:00Around 3,000 participants from around 130 countries are gathering here in Davos for
00:07the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2025.
00:11Among those attending, over 300 governmental officials, including 60 heads of states and
00:18governments.
00:20Those attending plan to explore how to relaunch the economic growth, harness new technologies,
00:27and also strengthen social and economic resilience.
00:32We've identified five key themes that are critical here.
00:35I think first is around reimagining growth and what we need to do, recognizing the kind
00:40of slow growth, high debt environment we're currently in.
00:43How do we actually break this cycle and take advantage?
00:46I think really important here is actually to understand what drives growth.
00:51This is, you know, we need growth that's basically resilient, that puts people first,
00:57that's sustainable, and that this is what we need to, you know, actively think about.
01:01It's not just growth for growth's sakes, but actually growth to actually improve people's
01:05well-being, their lives, and a common prosperity.
01:10According to the latest global risks report, the state-based armed conflict is the top
01:15imminent risk for 2025, followed by extreme weather events and geoeconomic confrontation.
01:22Yeah, one of the things that we'll be looking at is active commitments that companies and
01:27governments make to collaborate around these specific areas.
01:31That might be around, you know, the re-skilling revolution, around trade facilitation, around
01:36developing industrial clusters.
01:39And so we'll be measuring our own impact by looking at these concrete areas where people
01:44have actively committed to investing more and contributing and working together to advance
01:49these common areas.
