00:00Hola a todos, hey guys, I'm here with Rafiq Anadol, he's one of the top artists in the world right now.
00:08He's from Turkey, from Istanbul, but he lives in L.A., and last year I met him.
00:15He has an intervention, let's call it, here in Davos, a super top screen, and he's going to tell us.
00:24But his art is the interaction between technology, machines, machine learning, data, and AI.
00:35And I invited him to do something in Mexico, and in the U.S., and in Canada for the World Cup.
00:42Rafiq, thank you so much. We talk already a lot, but I want to learn a little bit more about your art and what we can do in Mexico.
00:51First of all, thank you very much. I'm so happy, and we are in similar neighborhoods in L.A. to Mexico.
00:57I have amazing studio members, we are 20 people in Los Angeles, I'm teaching at UCLA, this medium.
01:04Here in the World Economic Forum, the last three years, I'm coming back to back.
01:08You are a young global leader, right?
01:10Yes, also YGL, and last year.
01:13So, it started with the corals underwater, and then rainforest last year, and this year we focused on glaciers, ice caves, and landscapes.
01:20So, each year we try to focus on the things we are losing because of energy consumption, and also AI.
01:26So, this year we focused on 100 million data points.
01:29100 million data points.
01:32Yes, and the majority of them were collected by me and my team.
01:34We went to Iceland, Antarctica, Greenland, Switzerland, and Argentina to record our own data.
01:40It's a really lazy work, it's like a really heavy work.
01:42And then we record audio, image, video, drone surveys, even we collect the smell molecules from the freshwater to make an AI perfume.
01:51And now, tonight, at the Congress Hall Opening Ceremony, there will be...
01:55Just here in our back.
01:57Yes, our hope is to make a positive impact for the world leaders, so let them remind how beautiful and how fragile glaciers and the nature.
02:03The same time that he's having this particular art intervention here in Davos, President Donald Trump is going to give his message to the world.
02:13So, it's relevant, believe me.
02:16And he's opening a new museum in LA that is going to be...
02:21I mean, for all the Mexicans that goes to LA on a daily basis, or just for tourism, you need to go to this museum.
02:27What's going to be the name?
02:29Data Land.
02:30Data Land will be...
02:31Data Land.
02:32In Los Angeles, we'll have a lot of great experiences with AI and never seen before.
02:36We have an education program, we'll teach how to use AI in many languages, of course.
02:41And we'll do our best to bring young minds, anyone and everyone.
02:45Not everyone.
02:46I promise you guys, we're going to do something with Refik for the World Cup in 2026 in Mexico, in LA, and probably another city in Toronto.
02:57We're going to ask the Museo de Antropología to do something with Refik.
03:01This is going to be amazing.
03:03Go to the web and look for Refik Anadol Art.
03:09You're going to be amazed and blown up.
03:12Thank you so much.
03:13Thank you, guys.
