00:00Pakistan will provide immediate humanitarian assistance in Gaza, two states in the Middle
00:06East have recently expressed their concerns over the threat of Israeli military operations
00:11in Gaza.
00:12Pakistan's permanent representative, Muneer Akram, has called on the UN Security Council
00:17to immediately resolve the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
00:20The two-state solution should be based on the basic principles of the UN Charter.
00:25And we believe a feasible framework for durable peace between Israel, the Palestinians and
00:46the Arab and Muslim world.
00:49Indeed, Israel's existence, flowing from General Assembly Resolution 181, can be legitimized
00:58only if there exists a separate and sovereign Palestinian state.
01:04The alternative is prolonged and brutal military occupation, revived violent resistance and
01:12perpetual conflict in the Holy Land, which would continue to afflict the entire Middle
01:19East and poison the relations between Israel and the Arab and Muslim world.
01:27An inclusive political process is essential to advance the realization of the two-state
01:33solution.
01:35Pakistan will work to promote such a solution as a member of the Global Alliance for Implementation
01:41of the Two-State Solution.
01:43This outcome should be made politically inevitable.
01:47The State of Palestine must be recognized by all UN member states and admitted as a
01:53full member of the United Nations.
01:57In this context, we welcome the General Assembly's decision in Resolutions 79-81 to convene a
02:05high-level international conference in June 2025 on the implementation of the relevant
02:12UN resolutions pertaining to the two-state solution.
02:17Mr. President, to achieve comprehensive peace in the Middle East, it is also essential to
02:23simultaneously address other threats to peace and security in the region, as the Secretary
02:30General has mentioned.
02:33Pakistan welcomes the agreement facilitated by France and the United States for a cessation
02:39of hostilities in Lebanon.
02:41We congratulate President Joseph Aoun on his election and Mr. Nawaf Salam on his designation
02:48as the Prime Minister of Lebanon.
02:51Israeli forces must withdraw from South Lebanon within the stipulated 60 days.
02:57The Lebanese army is ready to deploy there in accordance with Security Council Resolution
03:031701.
03:05Israel must halt its continuing attacks in Lebanon, which are blatant violations of the
03:1126th November Agreement.
03:15Pakistan supports the stabilization of Syria through an inclusive political process and
03:20governance.
03:22Pakistan must not be allowed to re-emerge in or from Syria.
03:27We must uphold Syria's unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
03:34Israel must withdraw immediately from the separation zone established under the 1974
03:40disengagement agreement.
03:42It must also withdraw from the occupied Syrian Golan Heights in accordance with Security
03:48Council Resolutions 242, 338, and 497.
03:55We call for a halt to the Israeli and other airstrikes against Yemen, as well as an end
04:00to the attacks from Yemen on international shipping.
04:05We hope that a ceasefire in Gaza will help to end these attacks and revive the interrupted
04:12political process in Yemen.
04:15Mr. President, the Council must also be concerned at the reported contemplation of further Israeli
04:23attacks against the Islamic Republic of Iran.
04:28Today, despite the hostile rhetoric, there is an opportunity to revive the JCPOA on equitable
04:39terms.
04:41This window of opportunity must not be missed.
04:46This would contribute significantly to realizing durable peace and security across the entire
04:53Middle East.
04:56Mr. President, the Israeli Prime Minister has proclaimed that Israel, and I quote, has
05:04changed the face of the Middle East, unquote.
05:09But Israel has not and cannot change its soul, a soul which continues to seek justice
05:20as well as peace.
05:22Even in this altered strategic landscape, the Arab and Muslim peoples will not relent
05:32in their quest for peace with justice and for equal rights for the Palestinian people,
05:39including their right to self-determination.
