US President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Jan 20 delaying by 75 days the enforcement of a ban of popular short-video app TikTok that was slated to be shuttered in the United States on Jan 19.

He said one of the many ideas to enable the Chinese company to continue business is to have a joint venture with the US which should have half of the company.

00:00First, we have a list of pardons and commutations relating to events that occurred on January
00:196th, 2021.
00:20I may not do the deal or I may do the deal.
00:22TikTok is worthless.
00:23Worthless.
00:24If I don't approve it, it has to close.
00:29I learned that from the people that own it.
00:31If it, if I don't do the deal, it's worthless, worth nothing.
00:36If I do the deal, it's worth maybe a trillion dollars, a trillion.
00:40So if I do the deal for the, I'm talking about doing it for the United States.
00:43If I do the deal for the United States, then I think we should get half.
00:48In other words, wait, I think the US should be entitled to get half of TikTok.
00:55And congratulations, TikTok has a good partner.
00:58And that would be worth, you know, it could be $500 billion or something.
01:04It's crazy.
01:05The numbers are crazy, but it's worthless.
01:07If I don't, if the president doesn't sign, then it's worthless.
01:11If the president does sign, it's worth maybe a trillion dollars.
01:15So I think like a joint venture, I think we would have a joint venture with the people
01:22from TikTok.
01:23We'll see what happens.
01:24I mean, that's one of many ideas.
01:25The CEO of TikTok is open to that idea?
01:29Who?
01:30The CEO of TikTok is around.
01:31Oh, I think he'd probably like it.
01:35Because he's got nothing.
01:36Would the US pay him to buy a portion of TikTok then, or how would it get that 50%?
01:41No, you'd take 50% of TikTok for the approval that TikTok can continue in business.
01:48And they'd have a great partner.
01:49The US would be their partner.
01:51But the US essentially would be paid for doing that half of the value of TikTok.
01:56Would there be a private sector owner?
01:58Could be.
01:59Could be a lot.
02:00Tell you what, every rich person has called me about TikTok.
02:03You wanted to block TikTok, why did it change your mind?
02:07Because I got to use it.
02:09And remember, TikTok is largely about kids, young kids.
02:14If China is going to get information about young kids, I don't know.
02:19To be honest, I think we have bigger problems than that.
02:22Just gave me the right to sell it or close it.
02:26Essentially with TikTok, I have the right to either sell it or close it.
02:31And we'll make that determination.
02:33And we may have to get an approval from China too, I'm not sure.
02:37But I'm sure they'll approve it.
02:39And if they don't approve it, it would be somewhat of a hostile act, I think.
02:44But it's good for China if it gets approved.
02:47Which was it's not guaranteeing that TikTok will be around after 90 days from today.
02:51No, but it could very well be.
02:54It makes sense for it to be.
