00:00In Mahakumbh, a saliva test will be carried out on the devotees and their DNA will be tested.
00:07Yes, for the first time, the number of millions of people who come to Mahakumbh will be tested on the DNA of the devotees.
00:15And this test will be carried out by the Geology Department of Banaras Hindu University.
00:21Under the leadership of Professor Gyanesh Chowdhury, a team of 5 people will stay in Mahakumbh for 3 days.
00:29The DNA of the devotees will be tested, along with the number of antibodies in the body will also be tested and a kit has also been prepared for this.
00:41In the pictures, you can see that this is the same kit through which the saliva test will be carried out.
00:47After which, the DNA will be tested and along with it, there is this antibody kit through which it will be known how many antibodies are present in the body of the people
00:56and how much they are ready to fight other diseases.
01:00In this regard, Professor Gyanesh Chowdhury tells that our purpose of doing this DNA test is that we want to see how much gene diversity has been presented in Mahakumbh.
01:14How many people have made their presence in Mahakumbh.
01:17Along with this, we will also do an antibody test.
01:20Through this test, the immunity of the people who come there will be seen, how much they are ready to fight other diseases.
01:28Through this, if a pandemic comes, then we can find out what kind of antibodies are in people's bodies and how to fight other pandemics or diseases.
01:40He told that for this, there will be a team of 5 people on January 31, February 1, and February 7, where the saliva test of the people coming to Kumbh will be done.
01:52After that, in 5 to 7 months, the DNA test report will come, after which it will be known that how many percent of the people in Mahakumbh have made their presence known from different parts of India.
02:06We are going to work on two different aspects in Mahakumbh.
02:12One is that Covid has been in India for a long time, so it is still said that Covid is not gone, it is still infecting people.
02:23So, we will do an antibody test on three different times, on different timelines, of different people, because of which we will try to understand how much immunity is existing against this virus in the whole of India.
02:38Another thing is that the people coming to Kumbh will be of India's diversity, because people come from all corners of India.
02:48So, we plan to collect about 500 random samples to see how much Kumbh diversity we are able to capture in random sampling, because the ethnicity of a person, where he is from, and from which state he is coming, all these things are very different.
03:04So, we have a database of 25,000 samples that shows the diversity of the whole of India, which is a scale, 0 to 1.
03:12In that scale, we will fit where Kumbh is fitting, how much percent genetic diversity is being captured by India.
03:20We have fixed three different distinct dates, on those dates we have an expert team of 5 people,
03:27who have been doing antibody, serosurveillance for a long time, and are also publishing it.
03:33So, there is a kit of serosurveillance, in which we will take a small blood sample and check the level of the antibody in that person.
03:43The second thing is that we will collect saliva in a large population, so that we will be able to find out that we will take it to the DNA lab and further analyze the DNA to find out the diversity.
03:57We have three dates, 31st January, 1st February and 7th February.
04:07The antibody test will be compiled within the next week, we will prepare it within a week.
04:13The DNA work, because the major part of it is the sample collection, it will be done in the lab, so it will take at least 4 to 6 months.
04:22For the first time, the DNA of the people coming to Mahakumbh will be tested, the aim of which is to see how much percent of India's different gene DNA people have made their presence in Mahakumbh.
04:37Along with this, the ability of people to fight diseases will be tested through the antibody kit.
04:43On 1st February, ETB Bharat, Varanasi.
