00:00I mean, uh, the fourth. I mean, uh, they they have to play quarterfinals. I don't know.
00:17Shasha, Djokovic, Gianni for me are the favorites. That's for sure. I can't I can't say one.
00:23Matt. How do you describe how hard it was to play Novak after he got hurt and what made it so difficult?
00:35Well, honestly, I I felt like I was I was controlling the mass and I let I let him get into the match again.
00:51And that's I'm going to say that's was the biggest mistake that I made today in the second set.
00:59I had to to play play a little bit better just to push him to even even more to the limit.
01:12Yeah. He saw that he issues just moving a little bit in the second set.
01:19And I had to push him a little bit or a bit more to the limit.
01:25And I didn't and I didn't do it. So after after that, I think he he started to feel better.
01:31I'm playing. I'm playing such a great, great level. So that's what's my my biggest mistake today.
01:37But obviously, when when nobody's at this at this level, it's really difficult.
01:44I think I had my my chances. I mean, it was a really close match that I mean, I think most of the of the crucial points,
01:54he was he went to to his side.
01:58So I mean, when when Novak it's it's playing at this level, it's really difficult to find to find to find a way.
02:09Why do you think you weren't able to keep it up in the second set?
02:11What was going on in your mind to sort of let Novak back in?
02:17Well, I mean, it's just it's just about when when you're seeing someone that is struggling physically a little bit,
02:26I mean, it's kind of you you're not playing, you're not playing the same the same level.
02:31It seems like, OK, it's going to be easier.
02:33But at the same time, in your mind is you're thinking like, OK, I don't I have not to make mistakes.
02:45And probably you're not hitting the ball at the same at the same way that you're hitting before.
02:52I think that's that's it. He I think he did great, great, great hits, great shots.
03:01He started to to play more aggressively, trying not to move so much in the second set.
03:08He he made a few of them, which make him stay up in the set, break up or stay, stay up.
03:20And that's it. You know, and after after that, as I said, after that, it was it was really difficult to to to overcome that.
03:29And I'm playing I'm playing better, better than him.
03:33I was going to be really specific about what you noticed about his movement in the second set and then in the third and fourth sets,
03:40like how different was it?
03:43Well, I think everybody everybody saw in the second set.
03:46He's struggling a little bit to moving.
03:49I I don't know if it was it was more running to the forehand, running to backhand.
03:55But obviously he was he was struggling.
04:00And then the third and the fourth set, I mean, I didn't I didn't see anything, anything, anything bad from him.
04:06So I'm not I'm not saying like he he made the show.
04:11I just saying that I don't know.
04:16I think it's obvious and everybody saw that he struggled in the in the second set.
04:21And then in the third set and the fourth set, he he saw like he was he he was really he was really good.
04:30I just wondered if you could compare the Novak that you compared to play tonight to the one that you played in the the Olympic final.
04:39Well, it's it's difficult to compare because there's
04:45it's difficult, different conditions, clay,
04:48various, different, I mean, different time.
04:51It's it's just just different his level.
04:59I mean, he's level probably probably I don't know, probably the same same level.
05:07I mean, the third and the fourth and the fourth set, I think both played such a great, great tennis comparing to to that match.
05:15Probably probably same level.
05:19I don't remember right now what level he he played.
05:23I know that he he he played at such a high level, you know, in the Olympics game.
05:28But I don't remember right now, you know, the difference.
05:31But probably I could say I could say it might it might be it might be the same.
05:36Carlos, after that match, Novak called it one of the best matches that he's played at the at the AUS Open, one that he's been a part of.
05:45What did it feel like to be involved in such a match of such high quality throughout the four sets?
05:51Well, I think I I mean, I'm playing great, great, great matches.
05:59I mean, every time that we we play against against each other,
06:04I think it's a it's so got a guarantee we I mean, we we push push us to the limit each each other.
06:17I think we we've played great, great points, great rallies.
06:22It was really tight, you know, the third, the fourth set.
06:25I mean, the whole the whole mindset is, I guess, and I'm just lucky to to live this experience,
06:33you know, at 20 and 21 years old.
06:36I'm from from these matches.
06:39I'm getting so much experience about how to deal, you know, with with with everything I've I've done.
06:47I'm not I'm not going to hide.
06:48I've done great, great things in tennis already.
06:51But playing with or playing against one of the best in history for a sport,
06:57this this kind of matches help me help me a lot, you know, in the future to to be better.
07:02So I'm just I'm just happy to to be able to live this this experience.
07:09And yeah, I mean, for me, it's great hearing those words from from someone who who played historic,
07:16historic matches, historic, historic things.
07:18So I mean, I'm I'm living here, Australia with with the head up.
07:23And I'm, you know, really happy about about hearing those words from from Nolak.
07:28Last one in English.
07:29Today, maybe there was energy lacking on your side of points.
07:33We're so used to you kind of getting the crowd up.
07:35And there was a bit of that.
07:36But do you think maybe you could have used them a bit more at points?
07:40Well, I probably I could I could do it.
07:42But something something that I learned playing playing the Grand Slam is I have to save, you know, energy.
07:49You know, I there have been some some moments, some months that I didn't save energy, you know, pumping to myself.
08:02I mean, playing with the crowd, just, you know, screaming almost every time I'm 100 percent.
08:09So at the end, in the third and the fourth set, probably I started physically because of that.
08:15So I learned to to save energy during during the match, especially this kind of matches,
08:22who is or which is really physically demanding.
08:29And I don't know.
08:33So I'm going to say I'm going to say I think I did great that part.
08:37Probably I could do it a little bit more, you know, in specific moments.
08:41But in general, I'm going to say that in Grand Slam, I'm going to I prefer to to be like Calmer.
