00:18President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. is focusing on the government and stakeholders' agencies

00:24to strengthen the semiconductor and electronics industry in the country.

00:28In his first visit with the Private Sector Advisory Council Education and Job Sector Group,

00:34the President emphasized the benefits of these sectors to the economy.

00:39The President's point is that the industry must be pushed because of the country's income that can be obtained here,

00:46which is equivalent to the income obtained by the Philippines in the export of products.

00:51It is also time for him to focus on this through cooperation with the industries

00:56to find out how the semiconductor industry can be strengthened.

01:01One of the President's aims is to give incentives to semiconductor locators

01:06or companies operating in the semiconductor industry in a particular location or region.

01:12For example, the President said that when it comes to the CREATE MORE Act,

01:15there is no particular benefit or incentive for the semiconductor industry.

01:20Meanwhile, other industries such as car manufacturing have been given incentives.

01:25That is why the Executive Board called for help from the stakeholders of the industry

01:30to determine the necessary steps and incentives in the upcoming law.

01:36At the same time, the Private Sector Advisory Council Education and Job Sector Group

01:40also presented the country's semiconductor and electronics roadmap to the President

01:44and recommended the creation of the National Education and Workforce Development Plan or NATPLAN

01:49which was supported by President Marcos Jr.

01:52The semiconductor industry is focused on the production and development of semiconductors

01:58or materials used in the production of electronic devices

02:01such as cellphones, computers, and other gadgets

02:05that are an important part of everyday life.
