00:00I would like to focus a little bit on your journey to begin with. How was it
00:03growing up because I think very young in your life I think it was very clear that
00:08you were going to carry a huge baggage of being the son of a stalwart or a
00:12legend in Telugu cinema. How was it growing up and was it easy? See it
00:18definitely wasn't easy you know growing up was very easy that was you know I had
00:22you know my father and mother made sure that you know I was not wanting for
00:28anything. Irrespective of the hardships they faced and especially my father he
00:34made sure we were shielded from all the hardships. Whereas growing up we did
00:39realize I don't know what all they were going through and I'm grateful for the
00:42way they have brought us all up and if I'm 10% of what my father is I think
00:48I'll be a great father. Any excerpt you can give us on what kind of a father
00:53he was any any memories that you have from back then? Oh there are a lot of
00:56memories, there were great memories. Anything you can pinpoint on something
00:59that our audience would love to hear? One thing I know is that he never gave up he
01:06never gave up that was that was something which I learned you know even
01:11when all chips were down everything was down you know he always stood like a
01:16rock and you know and his attitude is where I think I learned a lot of my life
01:23lessons from. So growing up I believe you were a sports enthusiast as well
01:27played cricket, were the captain of the basketball team of your college if I'm
01:31not wrong. I remember reading that online. I was the vice-president, not the
01:36vice-president, I was a vice-captain of the Indian basketball team under 21 and
01:40then I was a captain of my university's cricket team and then I did captain my
01:48basketball team. Yes, I also played district level cricket and basketball
01:56basketball national level I did play. So I was pretty much into sports and I was
02:02my life was in sports mostly when I was growing up. That's I would say I mean
02:07don't mean to bring in gender here but that in that generation I think was
02:11was something that most men were comfortable doing growing up get onto
02:15the field and play. How did movies happen? Was it just organic because
02:19your father was a stalwart or is it something that was at the back of your
02:23head always? See Akash, I was an ugly duckling in my family. It takes a
02:28lot to say that. You have to be honest you know I'm not I wasn't I was an ugly
02:32duckling in the family and I was never a great looker and you know my family also
02:39decided that I would become an IPS officer and I did train to write my
02:43civils and I did give my preliminaries and what I learned over the period of I
02:49asked God only one thing make me an actor and I'll save it as much as I can
02:53and I keep telling in other interviews you know in 1.3 billion people in the
02:57country there are probably 200 people who are lead actors across the country
03:02and I'm one of the 200 and I thank God for giving me this opportunity and I
03:08want to you know he gave me this opportunity and I want to protect it by
03:12working hard and being disciplined and here I am you know there are much
03:16better-looking guys than me yes but I got the opportunity thanks to my father
03:20and I want to you know nurture that and keep it intact by my hard work and
03:26discipline. Going back in your journey once again you just as you said you
03:29wanted to be realistic any regrets going up that you've got any personality I
03:33think we all with time grow up and mature as individuals right I mean today
03:38when I look back at the teenager in Akash Kholru I would say okay this is
03:41the personality trait of them glad I got rid of anything like that going up
03:45that you remember? The only thing probably Abhishek can go back and change
03:48is my eating habits other than that there are no regrets for me. I think you
03:53worked on your physique I did a lot more than you did in the past yeah
