00:37hijacked by Huthi while sailing in the Red Sea on November 19, 2023.
00:42In his announcement of the release of the Filipino seafarers on the first of early morning,
00:48President Marcos thanked the Sultan of Oman and their government
00:52through a negotiation to save the freedom of the Filipinos.
00:56In the statement of DFA Undersecretary Eduardo de Vega,
00:59he said this is not the first time that Oman has helped us through the rebelling Huthi.
01:05More than a hundred of the Huthi rebels in Yemen have been attacked by ships passing through the Red Sea.
01:12Among them are some ships that have been hijacked by Filipino seafarers.
01:16Just like on March 6, 2024, when their missile hit the MV True Confidence in the Gulf of Aden,
01:23two Filipinos were killed and three were injured in the alleged attack.
01:27On June 12, 2024, 22 Filipino seafarers were also attacked by the MV Tutor in the Red Sea.
01:3421 were saved and one was still on the list of missing.
