00:00Lost somehow in the territorial tussle between the country and China in the West Philippine Sea

00:04is the hundreds of years of Chinese culture integration into the Filipino way of life

00:09and the Filipino-Chinese communities that have mushroomed and flourished all over the country

00:13as a result of intermarriage and assimilation.

00:16RBN Bin Manalo has hatches over these unbreakable ties that bind us and

00:21supersede whatever existing differences or problems come between the two countries.

00:25Despite the ongoing issues between the Philippines and China,

00:32including the territorial disputes in certain parts of the West Philippine Sea

00:36and the recent arrest of a Chinese national suspected to be a spy,

00:40some groups insist that relations between the two countries remain strong.

00:44They said China's culture is still alive in the Philippines,

00:47which is engraved in the rich history of the two nations.

00:50The political issues did not affect the culture

00:54because the cultural influences are so deep that it is deeply rooted in the Filipino society.

01:00According to the group, it is better to prioritize the promotion of peace

01:04and the growth of the country's economy instead of fighting and misunderstanding.

01:09They will also continue to participate to strengthen

01:12and deepen the relationship between the Philippines and China.

01:15And as part of this, people-to-people exchange is further strengthened.

01:19In FACA, there are four Confucius Institutes throughout the country

01:23that offer scholarships for our countrymen

01:25who want to deepen their knowledge of the Chinese language and culture.

01:29We hope that the stress will be on economic development,

01:34not on territorial dispute, to uplift the life of our people.

01:38We wish we now enter an era of forever peace and prosperity for the whole of mankind.

01:48Meanwhile, they are also preparing for the upcoming Chinese Spring Festival,

01:52which symbolizes progress and new hope.
