Seven police officers were shot while responding to a "suicide in progress" call in San Antonio, Texas, on January 22. Authorities confirmed that the officers were injured when 46-year-old Brandon Scott Poulos, a veteran, opened fire as they arrived on the scene. Poulos, who was out on bond and facing multiple charges, shot the first officer and continued to fire on others, injuring a total of seven officers. The officers, with 4 to 8 years of service, sustained non-life-threatening injuries. After barricading himself in an apartment, Poulos was found deceased following a standoff with SWAT. The incident is under investigation.
