00:00The emotion of the 17 Filipino crew members embracing their families once again

00:07after they were freed by the Huti group and returned to the Philippines was overshadowed by Jamie Santos.

00:17In high spirits, the 17 seafarers arrived in the country last night.

00:22They were sent to Yemen last November 2023 and were freed by their families.

00:27Their relatives held tight embraces and kissed them.

00:57He cancelled his trip to the UAE for the COP because it was just weeks after this.

01:05They will receive financial assistance, psychosocial intervention, scholarship, and livelihood.

01:11But the assistance won't end here.

01:14We will continue to provide the necessary assistance through our action fund, our humanitarian assistance as the days unfold.

01:25The Department of Transportation also promised to renew their seaman's book.

01:30After they return, they can be with their families and after having a good rest or vacation, they can go back to work.

01:42The seafarers will stay in Metro Manila for medical procedures before they are brought back to their provinces.

01:50Some of them are symptomatic for some infections.

01:53Not serious but a lot of things can happen in 428 days.

01:58We don't even know if they had access to medical services while they were in captivity.

02:02They are not visibly in pain or anything.
