00:00Hi there. For most of us, the worst front storm airwind is now over. It's moving off
00:07the scene, but it's still going to bring some very strong winds into the far north of Scotland
00:12at first this weekend, and a blustery weekend is expected on and off in places as further
00:18systems come and go. For the time being though, some areas of rain are still affecting the
00:23far south-east, but for much of England and Wales, Northern Ireland, sunnier skies, a
00:27cold start to the day, a few icy patches about. It's a blustery start to the day for
00:31Scotland, and those strong winds from storm airwinds still affecting the far north for
00:36a time before eventually calming down later. Those winds accompanied by frequent showers
00:40with some hill snow, and then further showers by the end of the afternoon push into the
00:44west, predominantly Northern Ireland and Western Scotland accompanied by gusty winds. Ahead
00:49of that, well, plenty of pleasant weather actually for England and Wales, and eventually
00:53the fine conditions extending into the south and east of Scotland. Feeling chilly, 6 or
00:587 Celsius, but with lighter winds, a crisp winter day is expected. Nevertheless, it's
01:04this area of showery rain that will move west to east during the evening, accompanied by
01:08some rumbles of thunder, perhaps some hail, and gusty winds. Not on the order of storm
01:14airwind, of course, but still some lively weather to be had as it pushes east overnight.
01:20Further showers follow in places, with snow falling over northern hills, and it's going
01:24to be a cold night once again, where we do get clear spells of frost, perhaps some icy
01:28patches. Nevertheless, it's going to be milder towards the southwest. The winds beginning
01:32to pick up once again, first thing Sunday, ahead of the next system, but before that
01:37system moves in, plenty of places see a settled start to Sunday. The best of the sunshine
01:42will be across eastern and northern England during the morning, and then Scotland into
01:46the afternoon. A chilly start here, but apart from a few showers, it's a mostly fine day.
01:52Elsewhere, cloud, outbreaks of, at times, heavy rain move in, along with strengthening
01:58winds. 60, perhaps 70 mph wind gusts likely with this system. It's another fierce low,
02:05but it's not going to be on the order of storm airwind, and it's not going to bring nearly
02:11as much disruption, but it could hamper recovery efforts. So, it is worth paying close attention
02:18to and we'll keep you updated right here at the Met Office on how that's expected to evolve.
