It was heartbreak for women's doubles shuttlers Pearly Tan-M. Thinaah after they went down fighting to South Korea's Kim Hye-jeong-Kong Hee-yong in the Indonesian Masters final.

Pearly-Thinaah did well to come back and win the second game 21-17 after losing the first 12-21 but the Koreans refused to give up and narrowly claimed the decider 21-18 in an exhausting 74-minute match at the Istora Senayan in Jakarta on Sunday (Jan 26).

00:33Despite the loss, the tournament was an encouraging outing for Perli and Emtina, who reached their
00:38first final since finishing runners-up, to China's Liu Shengshu and Tan Ning in the
00:44Arctic Open last October.
00:47In a post-match interview with the Badminton World Federation, BWF, Perli acknowledged
00:52disappointment with the runners-up finish, but noted their improved performance compared
00:56to the Indian Open and their first-round exit at the Malaysian Open earlier this year.
01:01Emtina shared how the duo overcame challenges during the tournament by motivating each other
01:05and staying focused.
01:07She also credited Perli for her support on court and vowed to keep improving as a team.
01:12The duo, last crowned champions at the Hong Kong Open in October, will take a break before
01:17returning for the All England Championships in Birmingham from March 12th to 17th.
