00:00Welcome to the property named Tuggeranong, we're virtually straight in east off the coast of Robe,
00:07somewhere around 30-35 kilometres in. We stand here with Hayden. Hayden, the key features to
00:14this property, I see the ability of drought proof but it also has balance. We've got a
00:20magnificent amount of artesian water here in the property and you can see the artesian water here
00:25behind us and there are a few of these on Tuggeranong. Towards the end of spring we'll
00:32start irrigating. We irrigate about 300 acres with three artesian bores, with no pump, no power,
00:41no diesel, turn on the fat, come here once a day and direct it with the sluice gates into
00:49the different bays. So from the artesian basin, well that's exactly through this part of the
00:55southeast, I find it personally just an amazing natural resource. Like Hayden said, just roll up
01:01here, turn the tap on, no power, no diesel, no moving parts, it's just free flow, come straight
01:08out and away it goes. How many hours does it take to sort of run a bay? Well we're pretty well set
01:14up for 24 hours, come here every 24 hours a day. Yeah righto, and from when you leave home to come
01:22down here when you get to Tuggeranong, how long does it actually take to change the bays before you can
01:27cook off your next job? Half an hour. So pretty quick and easy. Yeah, just whip around on the little buggies.
01:34Yep, and you'll do that, you'll water all those bays, get it done in a week? Probably 10 days.
01:4010 days, then you'll leave it for how long, until you can continue to run again? Well it's weather
01:45dependent, but usually another 7 to 10 days. So your main usage of this property over the years
01:54has been sheep? Well that's right mate, yeah we've fattened all the lambs here over summer,
01:59and we have cut hay and silage, and we've harvested strawberries over the summer as well.
02:05So with this water, it's the ability to virtually play God. You can flick the switch, you can start
02:16the season early, you can finish the season late. I strongly believe that water is the future of
02:22farming. What we're doing now, the paddocks are turning it on, and we'll see how the
02:27volume of water comes out at the end. And remember, no diesel, just free flow.
02:57We're in a sub-Mediterranean climate, we have cooler days, the cooler breeze is off the ocean
03:12in the afternoon. I welcome any inspections here at the property, please give me a call,
03:19or send me an email and I'll send you through the information memorandum.
03:22Thanks Ed, and thanks for the opportunity to work on your behalf here.
