00:00In the face of the continued cleaning up of the country's police force,

00:04more than 3,000 police officers were sampled for the case of 2024.

00:10This is the story of Ryan Leziguez.

00:14The Philippine National Police or PNP has released

00:19one of the two police generals who were involved in the 990-kilo shabu raid in Manila in 2022.

00:25The Minister of Police, Regional Office 3 Director and PNP Spokesperson,

00:30Police Brigadier General Gene Fajardo,

00:32said that there were eight other police officers who were not named by the general.

00:36We can explore other options of coordinating with the Interpol.

00:42And as a matter of practice, if we have warrants,

00:45we can apply for a red notice to at least inform

00:52the country that we can help our counterparts to account for this one person out of the country.

01:03At present, the police involved in the case remain at large,

01:07where, from the said number, four are active, three are retired, one resigned and one was removed from the service.

01:16While there are 20 people in jail, 10 of them are held by arresting units.

01:22Some are in the PNP Custodial Center and one is in the Manila City Jail.

01:27The so-called PNP officials are facing two cases related to the Republic Act 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

01:38The first one is Section 92 or Bungling in the Prosecution of the Drug Case with a fine of Php 200,000.

01:46And the second one is Section 29 of Planting of Evidence, which is not recommended by the PNP.

01:51Although it is heavy, because the Section 29 that was assigned to them is non-bailable,

01:58but as part of due process, we will conduct a hearing on these cases.

02:04I understand that there are already pre-trials to start the cases that were assigned to them.

02:13According to Fajardo, the PNP is waiting for the prosecution to issue a hold-departure order against other police officers at large so that they will not be able to leave the country.

02:23They are not under restrictive custody.

02:26Again, if they are listening and they are being watched by their acquaintances and loved ones,

02:33I think it would be in their best interest for them to give up, just like what their colleagues have done,

02:40so that they will be given a chance as a matter of due process to answer these complaints.
