00:00This might look like a spring vista overlooking the French Alps, but that statement is only half
00:04correct. These are the French Alps, but this video was captured only days ago in the middle
00:09of what would normally be ski season. All over France, over half of all ski slopes have been
00:14forced to close due to high temperatures and, well, a lack of snow. But that hasn't stopped
00:19this skier taking to what little snow was available. 18-year-old Bastien Moyon captured
00:23this video while skiing down a runway of the icy white stuff, dodging electrical poles and
00:28expertly making his way linearly downhill. But this wasn't the only place around the world
00:32experiencing the same conditions. This was the scene half a continent away at a Bosnian ski
00:37resort. And this is what another popular resort looks like in Switzerland. Authorities there say
00:41that temperatures recently rose to 70 degrees, forcing the closure of many resorts that would
00:46normally call this their busy season. With even those that remain open, like the Gestade resort
00:51saying, only 16 of their 70 trails have remained open.
