00:00Good afternoon. I am Dan Klein, executive editor of Come Cruise With Me. That is comecruisewith.com.
00:06I'm with Dennis Post, our travel agent partner, along with his wife Amy Post at Postcard Travel Planning.
00:11We are in a bar that's unique on Royal Caribbean. Dennis, do you know why this bar is unique?
00:16Because it's a schooner bar and it's unique to Royal Caribbean.
00:20It's the only bar in the fleet that's on every single ship.
00:24There is a pub in almost every ship, but one is missing the pub.
00:28So there is a schooner bar, but we're going to talk about something a little ridiculous today.
00:32The first thing we're going to talk about is jokes you should absolutely never make on a ship.
00:36I'm not talking jokes about the Titanic or the ship going down or things that anybody would know are inappropriate.
00:41But I just saw three times in a row at the bar here, the bartender asks someone,
00:46would you like another one? And the person thinks for a minute and says,
00:49well, I'm not driving today. And the bartender laughs.
00:53The bartender does not find this funny.
00:56He wants to punch you in the face for this. This is a bad joke.
01:00So I'll go back to my retail days. I used to run a toy store.
01:03And any time I went to scan a product and it didn't come up, the customer would say,
01:08oh, I guess it's free, as if I'd never heard that one before.
01:12And I'd heard it 75 times that day. So I know the customer is always right.
01:16I know the bartender has to smile and laugh. But please, for the love of God, don't make that joke.
01:22And Dennis, you have one too as well.
01:24So what we see all the time is you've got command staff walking around and they introduce the captain.
01:30And he's standing in the main part of the ship, talking and greeting people.
01:33And it happens, like he said 75 times, it probably happens 100 times a day.
01:38Who's driving the ship if you're the captain?
01:41Bad. Bad.
01:43Here's the thing. The captain doesn't stand at a wheel and drive the ship anymore.
01:47I actually only learned that a few months ago.
01:49Captain Cade of Celebrity Beyond posted a video about how they actually steer the ship.
01:53And it's not a big wheel like you would think. It's all sorts of different systems.
01:57Anyway, I am Dan Klein. He is Dennis Post.
01:59We are Come Cruise With Me.
02:01We are on Voyager of the Seas and we'll see you soon.
