00:00Was it exhausting for you to play so many fake orgasms in the movie?
00:08I mean, the most exhausting part of it was actually the emotional part of it.
00:12The idea of the confession scene with Antonio Banderas,
00:16who I really want to praise because he came into this project
00:20with so much generosity.
00:23And I think it's such a fierce performance that he gives.
00:26But that was a really, because that required, you know, it's a huge monologue,
00:33but it goes through so many dips and turns because one minute she's saying,
00:37I want to tell you everything.
00:38And then she pulls back on that as she watches him get angry at her.
00:42And she realized she can tell a little bit if she wants to sort of
00:45spill her whole soul to him.
00:48But he gets so angry that she has to sort of maneuver within that and
00:52still be incredibly raw and open.
00:55And and that was probably the toughest day for me.
01:00This is liberating for women.
01:02This is going to represent the woman's voice.
01:04I responded to it viscerally as a story, and I was just drawn in,
01:10which I think is what makes it, you know, in terms of people relating to it.
01:15I think there's even though it's sort of this subdom, you know, kind of story.
01:23It's very much about relationships.
01:25It's about secrets.
01:26It's about desire and shame.
01:28But I think it crosses genders.
01:31Yes, it's told through a female voice, but I think the female voice
01:35gives it deep humanity.
01:38And so hopefully you can feel the the humanness of Romy and the way
01:44in which she's struggling, the way in which she gets angry at herself.
01:50And then the way in which she's sort of controlled, almost like
01:54she she feels something and she's drawn to Harris, to the Samuel character
01:59in a way where it's like a magnet that she can't get away.
02:02I find that compelling as a story, you know.
02:06And but then because you only follow the woman through
02:11through the whole storyline, you're being asked to see it through the woman's eyes.
02:15And I love that because there's not really many stories
02:18that I've seen on screen that represent that.
