00:00And it's not fun for anybody to lose.
00:02I mean, we saw that like night one when I was watching my Bay Boys, you know, beat up
00:06on New York.
00:08There was a first four or five holes having fun.
00:10And then none of those guys on the New York side particularly were enjoying themselves
00:13because no one likes to get beat on national TV.
00:16But even in that context, my tiger watching Kevin Kisner blade a bunker shot off a flagstick
00:22and just laughing as hard as we've ever seen him laugh with Max home at that.
00:26It was incredible.
00:27It's so good.
00:28So I think those things are cool.
00:30But to your point on the competitive edge and the competitive approach, 100% it feels
00:36like it's still there.
00:38And I think it's, you know, you can make, you know, for people who are looking at the
00:43quality of his game and like, you know, having trouble getting out of the bunker.
00:46So did Tom Kim, we've heard Ricky Fowler come on the show, numerous people talk about, it's
00:51tough to figure out those bunkers with like the artificial turf underneath it and the
00:55bunker sand on top, it tough to figure out how to play those correctly.
00:59But putting the pace where he's his pace control on some of these putts has not been great.
01:02It's tough for anyone to read those greens.
01:04I saw tweets.
01:05I forget who it was from, but like, I'm convinced that these might be the most difficult greens
01:09to put in the world.
01:10We're trying to figure out the pace and the changing slope.
01:13And so, so it's like all these things where you're like, maybe you'd like for him to be,
01:16you know, more sharp as a competitor.
01:19Everyone's having trouble with that.
01:20And in terms of the focus, I mean, it's, it's hilarious.
01:22I feel like it happens numerous times, every one of these matches where they're trying
01:26to talk to Tiger in his ear, Hey, Tiger, what, you know, Matt Berry last night, Tiger, what
01:30do you see on this putt?
01:31And he's like, it's like, he's completely blocked him out and he's in the read with
01:35kids and Tom Kim and trying to, okay, I feel like this is the low point and I think it
01:39does this at the whole, he is so laser focused on trying to win this thing.
01:44And I love that.
01:45There's this arena to your point that we can see Tiger in that, that strips away all the
01:50things that are going to make it hard for him to do that.
01:53And regular tournament golf.
01:54Well, I was just sitting here thinking about where, you know, in Tiger is at in his career.
02:00And we know that he's not able to put the reps and he can't play as many tournaments.
02:04So it's going to be very difficult for him to have a, whatever chapter you want to call
02:09this in his career.
02:10It feels like we've had so many with Tiger over the years, but I feel like moving forward.
02:19I think for the most part, you know, if we saw him pick off a PGA tour event, great.
02:25I don't see that really quite as much.
02:28Maybe it's just because he just won't get the reps in, but I still feel like just like
02:34how Freddie couples every year when he would show up to the masters, didn't matter how
02:37old he was, he'd find a way to like find his way into contention.
02:41And he did that for like a five year period.
02:44Does that feel about right?
02:45Charlie, when he was probably he was playing on the, I would say the champion store a little
02:51bit at that time, but old enough to still have enough pop in his bat, but it's a golf
02:56course that, that it doesn't change pretty much.
02:59You could play it year after year with all the course knowledge that he has.
03:04And to me that, that feels like the only place that Tiger can still have that one more magical
03:11moment.
03:13You can look at all of his data from all of the last, however many years where, you know,
03:18if he makes the cut, he's, he's at the back half of the deal.
03:21And if we're lucky to see him play four days, it seems like to me now that the pop in the
03:27bat still there, and he's not really laboring around quite as much.
03:32Now I know he's walking on flat terrain, but it seems like whatever surgery he had this
03:38past off season, I still have just, I know the hope meters like really low on the bar,
03:44but out of a hundred, if we were at one, maybe we're closer to 10 now because I I've seen
03:50enough.
03:51Now I will say that the rust is definitely there.
03:53You could see it in TGL at times with shots, but I'm not ruling out the fact that that
04:00char or that, that Tiger can make the cut at the masters and, you know, be a somewhat
04:08part of a storyline.
04:09I think that's still possible at this stage of his career based on what we've kind of
04:14seen whether it be at TGL or at the PNC.
04:20That's just kind of what I've seen.
04:21Yeah.
04:22I don't think that that's far off.
04:23I think, you know, the Freddie couples example is a good one because I feel like where we
04:27end up with him is he's always, he's either like a first round leader type of situation
04:31or he has a great round on Friday, just in and around it.
04:34And I could absolutely see that sort of thing for Tiger as well.
04:37I mean, I think it was, um, might've just been this last year where there was like that
04:41really windy day that that's, that's exactly right.
04:45He played good last year, like the first two days.
04:47And then he just, he just ran out of steam because his body, man.
